My son has moved to Rhode Island and we were hoping to meet him in Newport as it is one of our stops on our cruise.  We will hopefully be tendering in by  Perrotti Park .  Can anyone recommend an easy to find place for him to find parking?  I realize that parking can be expensive in Newport but it will be worth it to see him!

Me too!! They almost didn't have any flights for us!

So, we were flying from Philadelphia to Fort Lauderdale last Friday. We were scheduled on a cruise out of Miami the next day. I had scheduled and paid for a limo from Go Transport from Fort Lauderdale to our hotel in Miami. Everything was set. Until while sitting in in the airport terminal they cancelled our flight. It was a madhouse as numerous flights were cancelled that day. So the only flight we could get to Florida was the next day at 7:30am to West Palm Beach. It took me three tries to get thru to Go transport who informed me that they didn't cover West Palm Beach and I would have to call them myself to re schedule. But, while waiting in the pouring rain for a shuttle to the Philadelphia airport hotel, my son texts me that Go transport had called my home phone (even though they had my cell) to say that they would not be giving me a refund. So needless to say, when we got to the hotel we started trying to figure out our transportation options. Having no idea how long the drive was from West Palm Beach to Miami we were in a panic. After googling transport companies and rental cars, we called a few car agencies. By this time it was 4 pm and we finally got an answer from http://www.PalmBeachAirportLimousines.com. We were able to book a Chevy Suburban for our arrival time of 10:30 am to drive us to Miami. There were four of us and our luggage. While waiting to board our flight, we met a couple who we had spoken with while waiting in the two hour line trying to rebook our flight the day before. We offered to share the ride since we had room and we were all trying to get to Miami. After a one hour delay, our flight took off. On arrival in West Palm Beach at around 12:40 pm we called our driver who had been waiting for us. He showed up in a beautiful new leather trimmed Chevy Suburban. All six of us and our luggage made it to the Port of Miami and we were on the ship by 2pm. To make a long story even longer, I would use this car service again. I did not have to give a credit card to reserve them ahead of time and they took either cash or credit at the end of the trip. Our driver was very personable and waited the hour for our flight to come in. The name of the company is 1st Airport Limousine, Inc. They cover Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Miami and Orlando. I thought they were great.

I've used Go Shuttle several times with no issues, both van and private car service. Always on time, personable, clean, and priced reasonably.

We are flying in to Fort Lauderdale and staying at the Hampton Inn Doral/Dolphin Mall. There will be four of us, including my 81 year old mom, so I wanted to arrange a private car for transportation. Go Airport Shuttle seems like a good option, except they are requiring payment when you reserve on line. I also checked with Larry's Limo but they quoted me a price of $135 vs. Go Shuttle's $97. I am a little concerned about paying ahead of time in case there is a problem. Has anyone reserved Go Shuttle ahead of time and did everything work out okay? I wouldn't usually stay so far away from the Miami port, but for our February departure, this was the nicest, least expensive hotel. Thanks for any input.

Thanks for the info. I feel a little bit better now about booking this hotel We needed two rooms and the hotels in downtown Miami were a little too expensive for February.

Just wondering if anyone has stayed here recently, pre cruise. We are flying in to Fort Lauderdale the day before the cruise out of Miami and I chose this hotel for the price and easy access to restaurants. (Traveling with an 81 year old). Transports from Fort Lauderdale to any of the Miami hotels seemed to run pretty much about the same. Checked Trip Advisor but none of the reviews were pre cruise. If you stayed here, how was the hotel and was it easy to get a cab to the Miami pier? Thanks for your help.
