    I just downloaded the app.  Very easy to complete the info. You need to complete the required info no sooner than 72 hrs before you start your cruise even if you do not get off the ship in Canada unless they change the rules before your cruise. If you are not sure, better to complete it to be safe.  Can always delete the app and the info in it if you find out it is not needed by the time you cruise.

    I forgot to mention you may complete the traveler details for everyone in your group, vaccine, and passport details in advance.  The rest of the form details cannot be completed any sooner than 72 hrs before you sail.

    What is a good website to the track cruise ship?  We are staying half-hour away and will drive to port.  Sure don't want to get there and find no ship has arrived.

  4. HI;

    This is not a new thing, but thanks for the reminder to check the website for any updates. AFAIK, letters and notices are sent out to those affected. As written by another poster, this does not mean that the construction timetable will stay the same, and that our itineraries will not be affected at the last minute.

    Thanks. I also hope more dates are not added to the port change. Construction timetables change all the time. I just hope Celebrity will manage the process with the port staff and shuttles much better in the event my February cruise is impacted.

  5. Older post exist with this info : Only one Silhouette sailing is affected by this change from FLL to MIA. March 11, 2018

    On March 18, 2018 she will disembark passengers at MIA then sail to FLL. March 18, 2018 embarking @ FLL is delayed

    Thanks for the update. This is good to know that fewer cruises are impacted. I also hope more dates are not added to the port change. If it is, I hope it is managed better than the reports from CC members I have seen so far.

  6. We drove down from Orlando on the 17th and it took us about 3hrs and 10 minutes or so. Dropped the car off at Park n Go (highly recommended for parking at Port Everglades) and they shutteled up to the Convention Center for the transfer to the ship. WHAT a MESS! It took us three and a half hours to get to our cabin. Think about this for a second,,, it took longer to get on the ship that it took to drive from Orlando. I have a picture of about 500 people sitting in the convention center waiting for the buses to take them to the ship. The hired Celebrity help didn't know what they were doing, we even heard two of them talking and saying that exact thing. After we got on the ship and the mile long line at the service counter died down we stopped by to tell them how unhappy we were with the start of our vacation. (We also stopped by to tell them that they, or the porter broke a wheel off our new suitcase. Long story short on that is Celebrity brought us a new suitcase. Well done Celebrity.) The apology for the lengthily embarkation was well rehearsed and pretty much empty as far as accepting any of the blame. It was all the Ports fault, Celebrity found out late, which was a lie, and they could nothing but help us to enjoy the rest of our vacation. I could go on but let me close with this, they gave us a $25 credit each. You should be ashamed Celebrity.

    Wow. So sorry to hear this. I hope the rest of your cruise went well. There are other threads where people were very upset with the process and it sounds like it was justified. Many stated it was unorganized and an operational mess. I do hope My Feb 4 2018 cruise does not get bumped to Miami and we will have to deal with this. This will be our first time on Celebrity. Building a new ship should not pose a problem for other ships and their passengers even if changing ports. The process should be seamless but only if managed well. Sounds like they fell short.

  7. Celebrity is doing renovations in the Fort Lauderdale port area where the Silhouette docks in order to make room for the new ship Edge. This means those scheduled for certain cruises will not embark/disembark in Fort Lauderdale as originally planned. The impacted cruises will embark/disembark in Miami. See https://www.celebritycruises.com/travel-alert for info. This may be an issue for those planning to fly in/out of Fort Lauderdale and/or stay in Fort Lauderdale before/after the cruise. Plan accordingly. Six dates are impacted so far.

  8. We usually rent a car from Avis, who has a very convenient office location at the Mega Pier. Curacao is a relatively large island (we often drive over thirty miles from the ship) and sure would not feel comfy in a Tuk Tuk. Most roads are pretty rural and cars move along at a decent clip.

    Thank you for the response!
