  1. This is great news! We will on the Ruby Princess in July. Do you know if Southwest Airlines is included in this service? I can't find current information on the website, and the Princess agent my travel agent spoke with didn't know anything about it.

Also, we are arranging a town car to transport us to SeaTac. You mentioned there were 3 groups getting off the ship with this luggage service. Would 8:30 be a good pick up time at the Port, since we don't know which group we would be in?

    Thanks for your advice!

Southwest does participate. But on our May 13 rollcall someone mentioned that there were issues with the luggage going to southwest. It said Luggage could not be found at the port or the airport wasn't sure where the luggage was. The poster said it was only southwest with issue. Since this was the first week for this program, I'm hoping they will be able to work out all the kinks with all airlines. You should be fine with an 8:30 pick up from the port.

  2. Since the main point of offering this service was to hopefully allow people to spend more time in Seattle it doesn't make sense to limit it to 1 pm.

Did you have to be among the first group off the ship in case customs wanted to inspect your luggage??

There were 3 groups of about 50 people each that were using the Easy Check Baggage program. We were in the second group that disembarked at 7:55. Each group was set 30 min apart.

I agree that it didn't make sense to limit departures to 1 pm and I don't know how strict they are on that, mine was at 1:10 departure. We we went thru customs, only had to hold up our passports and give them our declaration form.

    Hope this helps.

  3. So am I correct in assuming that if you have a flight that departs SeaTac airport after 11am you can fill out paperwork at guest services and they will take your bags to the airport and print your boarding passes and this is all courtesy of the Port of Seattle. Am I missing anything? I am sailing with Emerald Princess and my flight departs at night.

On the form I filled out, you had to answer yes to five questions and one of the questions asked if your flight was between 11 and 1 pm. Even though my flight was at 1:10, I answered yes and it was approved. I can understand that the flight has to be after 11, but don't really see a problem with a flight after 1. I did have to have a printed copy of my flight confirmation. Be sure a bring a copy with you.

I was told that this was a courtesy of the port of Seattle hoping to make disembark me too smoother.

  4. We disembarked from the Ruby princess yesterday (may 20) and used the port's Free luggage service. We were flying out of SeaTac on Delta at 1:10 and were told this was the first week to use this service. It worked perfectly for us. We had to fill out the request and flight info to return it to customer service desk by Monday noon (Juneau port day). On Friday evening we had our luggage tags and our boarding passes. Your Stewart will even weigh your luggage if you need them to. We used the princess transfer from port to SeaTac and was dropped off at the terminals. We were able to go straight to TSA check in. WHen we arrived in Charlotte, NC last night, our luggage arrived with us. There were no issues and was very pleased. It was nice to disembark and not have to look for our luggage.

  5. We booked Colin on a Sunday (6/19), but it was starting at 9:15 am. We toured for about 5 1/2 hrs. it was really great. We let him plan it and saw the entire island. We didn't stop downtown Hamilton or St George, but he drove us around the towns. We made one mistake, not Colin's error, it was ours. There was a Bermuda 'host' talking to us as we were waiting. We just let her talk telling us about sites to see in Bermuda, She mentioned the Crystal caves telling us about them and we just nodded, waiting for Colin. Well, when Colin showed up, she went and told him we wanted to go to the Crystal Caves. It was ok, we enjoyed them, but poor Colin had to wait around alittle over an hour. After we got back in the van, then did we realize what the lady did. Colin thought we really wanted to go there and we thought that he really wanted us to see them. LOL. Another thing, Colin just got a bought a new van in December and it was really nice and comfortable. He answered all of our questions and was so knowledgeable. Have a wonderful time with him, we sure did.

  6. So glad you were able to book Colin. We're in Bermuda only 24 hrs on 6/18-6/19 and we felt that a private tour would help us see what we wanted to, especially since half of that time is a Sunday. We have Colin for 9 - 2 on Sunday and so looking forward to it.

  7. Thanks so much BeneaththeSea69, it was great to read that you had a wonderful time with Colin. We have him on 6/19 (Sunday) and letting him choose our itinary. I'll post what we did when we get back. We are really looking forward touring with Colin.
