  1. Hope not... I talked this cruise and Iternerary up, and a guy on my work crew is on that sailing. I won't be sailing myself in 2018. We are booked the May 17th, 2019 on the GEM out of Boston for our 25th Anniversary.

Hi NH Cruiser, I will miss the Dawn in Boston especially the awesome staff! We have been on the Gem a few times out of NY and really like it! Will be on the Escape in November! May do a Boston to Bermuda in April if the price drops a lot. Say hi to Patty!

  2. Last cruise on the Dawn Alain did recognize Patty and I. Obviously with so many folks he meets he couldn't remember the exact dinner we had at La Cucina.

Next week this time we will be overnighting at Kings warf. We will do everything in our limited ability to deliver you a good ship!

Thank you! Hopefully we both have good weather! We usually do Bermuda earlier in the season! Have a blast!
  3. We will also be on the same sailing! We sail every year out of Boston the parking is very close to the cruise terminal. You can either park in the garage or a lot both are very close. I believe it is $140.00 for the week. If you take the train you will have to get transportation to the cruise terminal. It is very nice to get off the ship and have your car right there!

  4. NCL Dawn 6-9-17 to 6-16-17

    J.C Sanchez - Cruise Director :D

    Teo Grabic - Captian

    Andreas Sommerfeld - F&B

    Osley Ollivierre - Exc. housekeeper

    Ana-Maria Haza -GSM

    Paulo Vaz -Exc. Chief

    Alain magnier - H.D.

    Ionela Oprisan - Restaurant Manager

    Raj Rodrigues - Beverage Manager

And THE Anne Barbaza - Group Service Coordinator

    .

Thanks for the info! We met you and your wife many years ago on the Dawn!
  5. I hope he is on too! Last time we cruised on the Dawn he was. Very good to hear from you. Would have been a blast to be cruising the same week. Our cruises to tend to be at the same time the past few years.

Our dinner with Alain ,and you too, is a high point that we still speak of today. That Osso Bucco in La Cucina was perfect.

Dinner was great! Awesome company! We are going later than usual. We are also hooked on the suite life!

  6. Sad to hear about the Star Bar. It was always one of my favorite places.

Rather than replace a Pub with a for fee food venue (Margaritaville), it seems like a better option would be to replace Pearly Knights with another bar, like the Five O'Clock Somewhere Bar, a really great place on the Escape. Here's hoping that's the plan, especially if the Star Bar is gone.

The Gem has a similar set up with Cagney's and Moderno the Star bar was still there. Moderno was behind the bar.

  7. Yes, they were an annoyance and I know the crew could not wait for the cruise to end.

But many of us from the CC Roll Call had a great time. It was a great group of passengers and we frequently met each other throughout the ship and in ports.

IMHO, this completely overshadowed the idiots on board.

Even during the storm, 50 + people showed up for the M & G....great people!! :)

I was shocked that that many showed up, since (according to the Captain) it was the worst storm he ever experienced on a cruise ship.

And... At our Get Together Dinner on the second night of the cruise, only 2/3 of the group showed up at La Cucina and the chairs actually slid away from the table many times during dinner and the restaurant staff would push us back. It looked like something from a movie comedy! :D

We heard that 50% of the crew were sick and 70% of the passengers were seasick including my daughter and my two grandsons...we all still rated the cruise a "10"!

My family had such a great time!! :D

    Don

I heard another large group of them are getting on today! I hope the info was wrong! Poor Staff!

  8. Bravo to Ncl for doing their best! I just got off this cruise and I witnessed the crew being abused all week in every venue. They did not all get kicked off, we were surrounded by them on my floor all week. They are also night owls. I was woken most nights by them running up and down the halls banging on doors. Last night i think they had a party in the hall. The kids ran up and down the halls with no supervision all week. They abused the rooms Steward's. I went to the front desk one night because the kids had one side of the stairs completely blocked (about 30 of them) and had half the other side filling up. I could go on and on but will let other's chime in because most on board had encounters with this group.

In spite of this it was a great cruise. Met some great people! Food was great! Entertainment great! Ncl rocks as usual!

  9. Does anyone here know if they're also matching the "free" packages? When I booked our oceanview cabin, it was eligible for the UBP but it isn't any longer.

I'll be calling them when I get home from work & am hoping I don't have to fight for it.

If you choose one of the options they are offering the UBP goes with it! I am getting ready to give them a call. Probably will not get anywhere but worth a phone call.

  10. I recd. a call today from NCl about this. I had 2 rooms booked on the June 3 cruise, we go every year. She gave me my options so I booked the Breakaway which will be a added travel expense to NY. Now I read that the 2nd cancelled cruise got to re book on the Dawn at the same price all season and we got offered Oct. Does not seem fair! I want to go on the Dawn but the prices are much higher than when I booked in January. I understand the cancellation, but not the different offers. Not happy with NCL!

  11. We have done the Boston to Bermuda cruise many times! Be back on in 4 weeks. The food is great. We eat in the dining room a lot and have no complaints about the food. If you get something and don't like it don't eat it you can order something else or go grab something at another place.

The kids will have a blast have them go to the kids club and try it out. Most kids love it some don't and would prefer being with their parents.

The shows are great! Bermuda is beautiful! You can buy bus passes on board the Dawn so no need to stand in long line's to get passes off the boat. The bus pass includes the Ferry. You can get to most places on the bus.

It is nice being close and being able to drive to the port. Parking is very easy I think we payed around 140.00 for the week.

  12. We have missed many Platinum BTS tours cuz they have conflicted with the CC M&G. Given the choice I will go to the CC M&G every time but it is disappointing.

    Hi Patrick,

Just got of the Dawn. We bought Bill a NCL hat. I always think of your pin hat and what a great way to keep track of all your pins. Bill will now have a pin hat. Hello to all your family!

  13. I had to wait to get the confirmed key officers for our 4-19-15 Repositioning Cruise...not a full list, by any means, but still a good-to-know list.

    Captain - Martin Holmqvist

    Hotel Director - Alain Magnier

Cruise Director - David "Dingo Dave" Klooster

    F & B Director - TBC

    Executive Chef - Paulo Vaz

    Executive Housekeeper - Carmencita Reid

Group Service Coordinator - Anne Barbazza

I have heard very good things about our HD, CD and GSC. And with our Roll Call fast approaching 200  I was heartened to hear that Alain is apparently 'big' on CC, welcoming the M&G activities and actually reads NCL, (and maybe RC?) board(s) :D

Alain is great! We were lucky enough to have dinner with him one night on the Dawn last year. He told us he reads the boards. He ran our m&g he did a great job stayed for a long time answering questions. I am cruising on the Dawn the end of May, hope he is not on vacation.
