Yes, we had a tropical/Caribbean night.  Almost everyone had on Hawaiian shirts or tropical clothes.  There was also a white night later in the cruise.  Maybe 25 percent of passengers did that.  We had two dress your best nights.  Passengers mostly dressed up.  Women wore dresses or pants and nice tops.  Men had on dress pants and dress shirts or polo type shirts.  I did not see a single man in a tux. There were some women in long dresses with lots of bling.  There was enough of a variety that anyone would feel comfortable in whatever they wore.

Thank you, last cruise we were caught off guard when they had their special nights.  Looks like I will be hearing moans from my husband as I like when he wears his tux and notice less and less participate now.

Thank you for posting that. I took a couple pictures, but they just were not very revealing. This is much better.

Are you able to post the couple pictures just to help location?  Your pictures earlier are they from you coming into the dining room on the right side or left as you come in?  Thank you so much for the help….

No, you enter the dining room using two doors. We are going to lunch there in a little while and I will get you pictures.

Delta likes to put together a table of late dining partners that she has "met" on Cruise critic.  [and often cruised with prior]  On the Grandeur there is a table for 8 or 10 [can't remember] just inside the door that has a railing around it and a small ramp leading to it because it is raised a bit.  We have joined Delta when our itineraries matched, and conversation is easier on this round table rather than a thin long one. JMHO

She has helped me in the past we like the same table but she uses it at late seating and we do early seating.  We like the 8 top but will take a 10 top just harder to hear the conversation and not oblong.  Thank you

  4. I have a question if you have the opportunity would you please take a picture from the upper dining room (from both ends) of the dining room below.  I am having a hard time picturing where those table pictures are located.  Do you only enter from one location?  Thank you for taking your cruising time to help us out and so informative.  Pat

Signing on for the ride with you!  I always love to follow your wonderful "live" threads and enjoy your adventures vicariously.  Thanx for sending the link to the Beadies.  I'm due to be on Vision on 8-3 so am very interested in your take.  How is she different from Enchantment and Lady G?  I know someone who will be cruising along with you on Vision so will have to tell her about your thread.  Would greatly appreciate it if you could find Vision's corresponding table number for the large round table where we usually sit at on Grandeur.  I think you got me number for the table on Enchantment.  G was 342 and E was 206.  What's it gonna be on V?

We are in La Romana from 1130AM - 600PM. This tour says it will adjust itinerary to fit the ships schedule. Has anyone done this tour in this time frame? Was there enough time for everything? We did this years ago and it was great but we arrived in port earlier.

How was the port, we have never been there?  Thank you

Yes you can do rapid, it's on Royal's site.  We did a rapid antigen for our Nov cruise and it's what Royal uses onboard for b2b and crew.  Also, the emed and optum tests are rapid antigen.

Thank you…be glad when this part is over with!!

FYI, the OP asked about Baltimore port testing and according to RCI's site a few days ago, Baltimore does not have testing yet and they may never with demand down so much.

We're cruising out of Baltimore on 2 April.  I scheduled our tests with a local lab for 31 March and plan to book CVS or Walgreen's as a backup for 1 Apr.  Positivity rates are 5% and below in most places now.  Our county is at 3.8% and I don't know anyone who has had it in the last few weeks.   I'm betting there are very few positives found in pre-cruise testing now.

Do you know if we can do Rapid-results test/Antigen, if that is acceptable?

I find the royal suite service a step far too far, a bit too much.  But we does love the suites. But from your story I can definitely see how you would favor Francis!  But to be honest we were lucky that we got the Bungalow that we reserved (we prefer those partly due to the privacy) because the day that we were a cococay a couple of weeks ago someone at corporate RCCL made a *huge* mistake - the Adventure and the Grandeur were scheduled in port together but EACH had been informed they were the only ship in port and so the entire island was booked at 200% 🙄  Apparently half the cruisers with the reservations have been canceled a day or two before we sailed 🤦🏼‍♀️

We will definitely look forward to meeting Francis now!

Francis is exceptional as a Concierge unfortunately he now is on the Radiance of the Seas and no longer on the Grandeur.
