Those chocolate covered strawberries would not have lasted 30 seconds in our cabin!

Glad you are back Chris, we did not have the premium WiFi, we had the unlimited and that was very spotty. At times it worked great and others it kept dropping out, never figured out any pattern to it, seemed totally random. I was really bummed that I missed out on the MnM. The fruit carving I was watching ran over and by the time I got to Cagney's about 10 minutes late it was over. So a tip for anyone reading this is DON'T BE LATE. We loved the Waterfront on deck 8, which was our deck. We walked around it often and would sometimes go out at the back of the ship and walk up to the front just to avoid the traffic jams inside.
Hi Tank! Yes, NCL ran through their stuff pretty quickly. They had all of the food and drinks wrapped up before I even drew the door prize! I am kind of new to the whole hosting of the M&M thing but I enjoyed meeting everyone.

We felt the same way about Deal or No Deal. Complete waste of money unless you were called on stage but it was fun to watch. Since this was our third time on the ship we skipped Burn the Floor (but enjoyed it last sailing) and went to Million Dollar Quartet which was amazing. We also felt that the staff aboard this ship were stellar! It seemed that every single person we interacted with was friendly and helpful.

So glad you saw this cast in MDQ!
You will love Stockholm! I wish we had had more time there. I would love to go back. Went there last September for a day on the Baltic cruise. Cheers!
I went with our daughter in 2015 when he first moved there and LOVED it! I especially liked Gamla Stan and went there every day. Next summer my husband and two younger sons are going with me.

Hi!! Yes he is on his third contract. (He did MDQ on land as well. He was in Phoenix for 2 months) He and the new cast boarded last week. 6 months on 6 months off. He says this cast is fabulous! Everyone is in for a real treat! Extremely talented musicians, singers and actors.
When did you cruise last? We went on the Baltic cruise in September 2017.
We were just on the Getaway last week. MDQ was fantastic! Last year we cruised on the Allure. Next year we are skipping the cruise and going to visit our oldest son in Stockholm where he is living. Probably going to do Alaska in summer of 2020.

I figured you were having too much fun!! Good for you!
Seminole!!! I was thinking about you when I was at the Million Dollar Quartet show! Is your son still performing? We were on the ship together a couple of years ago when he first started.

We booked on the Allure on Friday and I have email confirmation of our price and when we went on the website today our total was almost $3000 more. Something is wrong for sure.

Hey guys, I am preparing to embark on the NCL Getaway with my family on May 22, 2016. This will be our first cruise on NCL and my family's first ever cruise!
I know that NCL allows guests to bring sodas and bottled water onboard their ship without issue. However, I am curious if anyone knows if guest are allowed to bring sodas or bottled water to dinner with them at specialty restaurants.
Thanks in advance for your help!
My family and I are on your same sailing. You should pop over to the roll call http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2226462&page=17
and say hello! The meet and greet is planned for Monday the 23rd at 11am followed by a cabin crawl. Safe travels to Miami!

I know for a fact that Million Dollar Quartet WILL be on the Getaway, my son is in the cast. He will play Carl Perkins. They boarded the ship yesterday May 8th. Don't write off the show! It is great! It is high energy and has everyone dancing in the aisles by the end of the show! Everyone can find something in the show to enjoy with the music of Elvis, Johnny Cash, Carl P and Jerry Lee Lewis. Even teenagers who are not all that familiar with the music love the show. My son just finished up a two year run with the show in Chicago. It ran there for over 7 years!
That's very exciting, I'll have to look for him in the show on the May 22nd sailing!
-
I was able to reserve the show for the May 22 sailing. I don't know if that information is helpful at all for you though. Hope it is playing for you and that you to see it.
We are on the same sailing! Come join our roll call, we have a Meet & Greet lined up as well as a cabin crawl!

Do you mean this guy?? If so, he was there on our cruise June 2015
Loved that guy! He was awesome!

Hahaha we had the same thing happen after our cruise. We had to delete the app. I reinstalled it recently because we are cruising again soon.

I booked a GTY mini-suite on the getaway for May 22nd. I booked over a month ago and still no cabin assignment. I am so excited to cruise already that I check almost every day. Nothing yet...I was hoping maybe they would assign cabins soon. It is the 60 day mark today!!!
Hey Breezy! I'm on your cruise too! Come back over to the roll call, we are organizing a meet & greet and a cabin crawl! http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2226462

The hair dryer on Getaway is great, it is the only cruise where I have not brought my hair dryer. I brought my flat iron and had no issues. We are sailing Getaway again in May and I won't be dragging my hair dryer this time either.

Need help to choose Stockholm shore excursion from MSC Poesia (July 2024)

I am from the US as well and my oldest son has lived in the Stockholm area for almost 9 years now and we've been to visit a couple of times. My personal opinion is that is not enough allotted time to really enjoy those specific attractions. The remaining time is probably spent shuttling you to/from the port and between the attractions. Vasa Museum is amazing and we definitely were there more than an hour, as is Old Town (I spent every day there walking the shops), and while we didn't go into City Hall, we did go to the Palace and spent a couple of hours there. It all depends on what interests you. Maybe google the options available and see what is best for your group. July is an absolutely beautiful time to be in Stockholm!
