  1. TRAVEL DOCUMENTATION

Please take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the required travel documents. The requirements described below are required by government regulations and policies. They are subject to change without notice.

Royal Caribbean International strongly recommends that all guests travel with a passport that is valid for at least 6 months beyond the end of the cruise.

***This is copied from the Royal Caribbean website.

  2. Called RCCL and because I booked through a travel agent (first time ever), she'd have to call. So I contacted her and she said that RCCL had no idea what she was talking about. Huh?

I so much prefer doing it all myself, but the price I got (from the agent) on the cruise was $2000 less than what was offered by RCCL itself.

    Go figure.

I always use a travel agent and RCCL will only talk to the travel agent.

  3. I'm curious about this also.

How long does it normally take for RCI to refund OBC? Does it matter how much refundable OBC is on the account?

I have about $3000 in OBC that I've purchased to cover a new watch, drink package, some excursions, and cash for the ports. I've assumed the watch will cost me between $500-$1000. But, if the watch I end up with is cheaper than expected, I change my mind about excursions or they're booked solid, I could have $1000+ in OBC by the end of the cruise. I do have the TD US visa, and would much prefer the money applied to that card, than to have to $1000 in $US on me for my flight home. But I would rather have the cash than to wait a month plus for the money to be applied to my card.

    Thanks in advance,

    Mike

Mine is a TD visa too.

  4. Has anyone ever had the OBC put back on their U.S. Credit card? On our last cruise they overcharged me for our future cruise. They said that they would issue a credit immediately. It took a month for the credit to be placed on my credit card. I had to pay off the credit card before the credit was issued to avoid interest charges.

  5. If I buy obc for Oct. 2016 Harmony TA at 1.10 and lets say I cancel that cruise in April 2016, what would happen to the obc? Back on my credit card at 1.10 rate? Or could I book another cruise, say for March 2017 and apply that obc to that cruise? Don't know how long this deal is going to last, so want to buy as much for future cruises as possible.

    Thanks,

    Tony

I was wondering the same thing.

  6. Hubby and I are both Diabetic. we were told by Special needs that sugar-free drinks would possibly not be available on board and we should bring our own, and provide a doctor's letter.

I am a type 2 diabetic and have cruised on a few ships. I have never had any problem getting sugar free drinks on board. I usually drink diet sprite, which I have to pay for. I bought the drink package last year which included the coke machines. There were diet drinks available on these machines. You can also purchase diet sprite by the can. Kind of pricey. They also have sugar free iced tea available in the windjammer, that you can add Splenda to, If you want.

  7. For those diamond members not yet called - don't feel bad - we are diamond plus - close to pinnacle and haven't received an email or a call - oh well - I don't really care anyway - I hate this new dining arrangement and don't like the idea that we have to book 14 nights of dining. Us and another couple are just going to wing it when it comes to eating - and good grief there will be lots of places to grab something.

Hopefully, we'll just hit the windjammer on occasion and be satisfied. I certainly hope they don't have this type of dining on any other older ships. We like traditional dining and when preparing for a holiday the last thing I want to think about is booking reservations for dinner. Not much of a holiday when you have to spend time doing this plus arranging for tours etc.

I like to be pampered I guess - it's just my opinion.

I agree. I'm not really happy with the new arrangement. I sailed on the allure once and didn't go back because we had to book the shows before we left. I only booked a few nights of dining on the Quantum, we'll just wing the other nights.

  8. Were you preselected

I booked my dining the other day. I am diamond but didn't get a call or email saying that I was preselected. I just called and asked them if I could book. She asked me if I had received an email? I told her no, but could she check my reservation, she put me on hold and when she came back, she said I could book the dining options. So you should call even if you didn't get an email. They may let you book anyway.

  9. I have a us bank account that I put money in whenever I can. I also have a Visa card that is in US dollars that I use on the ship. When I get home I use the money in my US account to pay that Visa card. I try to put money in the account whenever the exchange is favourable. Also there are no charges for currency conversion. We travel to the states once or twice a year. So it is very convenient.
