I did a full Canal transit 3 years ago and it was one of the best trips of my life. Sure the taxes and fees were high, but I was determined to be on a PC sailing so I booked an inside. I was able to upgrade to an ocean view after final payment and sailed from San Diego to FLL.

I plan to do the reverse in the next few years.

Don't let the price deter you, pick the cruise line of your choice, and book. The Panama Canal board on CC has a wealth of information.

I did this on Legend OTS in December. It was pretty easy, no bags left

outside the final night and I was one of the first people off the ship.

I was in an OV on deck 2 recently. No credit card was needed, simply

select a 4-digit code.

Panoramic ocean view cabins are great. I really enjoyed the location and view

from the window. I can't stop raving about it.

BTW, Have fun on your first cruise.

I went on this excursion in November and had a ball. We boarded the bus at

the pier and took off with Onkee and Terry. We took a guided tour of both

sides of the Island, then we got on the "Calypso Boat".

Being on the boat with Shine, the entertainer, was the highlight for me. It

was a non-stop party from the beginning. I danced my shoes off.

On the way back, we asked to be left at the beach, where we hung out for a

few hours, then we took the water taxi back to the ship.

Be sure to try a coconut smoothie at the pier. They're tasty.
