  1. Hi!

We started cruising with Costa and enjoyed it , especially their Squok / Kids program for our son. But about 5 years ago we travelled onboard of the MS Fortuna and service was awful, actually there was no service :(.

Since then we prefer NCL, which we just love, and RCCL.

Now we will try Costa one more time due to a great offer. We will see...

And you are right - not even one answer at my roll call...

  2. Does anyone know what is going on the The Boatyard's website? Has not been working for at least 2 weeks when I've been trying to show it off to a friend. I hope it's just the website and not an issue with the boatyard itself.

Sent from my SM-G935V using Forums mobile app

Sorry, did not read all the way down.

So we are on the same cruise and having the same problem...

  3. Boatyard is great!

Check out their website which will answer your questions ....

    Hi!

We had decided to spend the day at the boatyard. But the homepage does not work, can't open it. Is that just a technical thing? Or is the club closed???

Please help me , can anyone tell me whats going on?

    Thank you!

  4. We will take the ship's tour from the ship, city tour of Shanghai and end at the airport. I guess we will get to the airport around 1 PM. Our flight will leave at almost midnight and we would like to rest before boarding the plane. Can anybody pls help me with a recommendation of a hotel which is close to the airport, clean and not too expensive? With an airport shuttle?:p

We have never been to Shanghai before - so I would highly appreciate your help!

And pls don't tell me to check on hotel websites. I am looking for personell experiences, about cleanliness ...

    Thanks in advance!

  5. Hi! We will do a cruise out of Singapore in March 2016 and will arrive to Singapore about 9 days early. We want to explore the city but also spend some time with off shore snorkeling. It seems that there is no good place in Singapore. Where else should we go for about 5 days? Langkawi? I read that Malaysias east coast is not good in March.

I would be thankful for any good advise!

  6. Hi! We just returned from a cruise.Curacao was a place that we have not been to before. I found people here on CC recommending to do a tour with Natasja and her du****axi. Looking for du****axi on FB I was able to find and contact her.

She taylored a tour due to our wishes. We wanted to see the island and snorkel. We had 6 hours with her and will hopefully meet her again. We had a great time. She was knowladgeble, full of fun. Stopped when we wanted to take pictures, invited us to a fresh smoothie (yummie) and picked a great place to snorkel. Will stay in touch with her-she is such a great person!

By the way: When you get to Curacao you will read often Dushi: It means friendly, cute, darling,..

It came to my mind tonight: SORRY- of course it was Curacao! How can I delete or move this? Anyway: It was Curacao!!! Should not post when I am tired ;-)

  9. We will disembark in Boston, our flight to Germany will leave in the evening. We would like to explore the city. What to do with the luggage? I heard that it is not possible to check in luggage in the morning at the airport.

I was thinking if we could go to a nice hotel in an interesting area of Boston , have lunch there, leave the luggage with the porter( tipp him well ;)), wander around Boston and take a cab from the hotel then to the airport.

Has anybody here done that? Do you think it might work?

I read so much about taking a water taxi, changing here and there, so that I am totally confused. Don't want to get totally exhausted before this long flight.

Or perhaps a dayroom - for up to 100$ ( would be more for the luggage than for us :o).

    Help would be hghly appreciated!!!

  10. Thank those of you who posted some real helpful answers!

It is not your fault that havn't decided anything yet:D.

May first is a holiday, but I havn't found anythng about a big music festival. Read that all shops will be closed.

I guess we will walk of the ship and find a tour there. Sounds as if Aruba is safe enough to do so!?

  11. i'm on the same cruise as you.....when we are in port on may 1 they will be celebrating a holiday, Labor day......from what I understand, some places will be closed as this is a major holiday for them......as for an excursion, I am doing a ships excursion which has snorkling, beach time and lunch....The name of the excursion is " Antilla Wreck Snorkle and Beach getaway"....here is a description......

Sail on a catamaran, that's been specifically designed and built for day cruises and snorkeling. It also features comfortable ladders to provide you with easy access to the water. You'll see Aruba's beautiful beaches and resort hotels while relaxing on the open decks. The catamaran anchors at the West point of the island for swimming and snorkeling in the crystal clear water where tropical fish may be seen. After a 50 minute stop at the famous Antilla shipwreck, a German WWII freighter that is home to a variety of colorful, tropical fish, you'll sail to the Pelican Marina to experience Aruba's most famous Palm Beach.

Here on this white sandy beach, you'll be pampered by crew members serving unlimited drinks. This is a unique opportunity to relax on a beach lounge chair or to take a walk on our famous Palm Beach. The more adventurous can try one of the many water-sports activities available for their recreation. The pier offers Aruba's best and only Seafood Restaurant and Bar located on the water. Your hosts will provide a guided narrated tour of sights along the way. Snorkel equipment and instruction are provided and we recommend that participants wear swim attire and bring a beach towel.

Thank you for your help. At the moment I feel like not making any reservations but I will keep this on mind. Snorkel and drinks afterwords - sounds good. I am just always worried a bit about snorkel and ship's tours: Might have more people than fish then.:o

  12. Depends what you want to do/see....and how much research you do beforehand! Most things are easy to do on your own, if you know something about where you're going! Get a guidebook at your library, read it, and THEN make the decision!

Sorry, have to tell you that your answer did not help.

I did write that we would like to see some of the island and want to snorkel.

I did read a guide book. But I am asking here at CC because people here can tell me about there experiences , e.g. if a tour company was reliable, if the tour was really good. - things a guidebook don't know and say. Or if it is safe to explore the island on own. If local companies will offer tours on this holiday.

So I am still hoping for answers one usually get here on CC: helpful and informative.

  13. We will be in port from 1PM to 11PM and would like to see some of the island plus snorkel. What would be the best way? Is it advisable to leave the port and do a tour with a local company without making a reservation in advance?

(No jeep for us). Which company? Just do not find a tour ( sunny is not available) so far. Shall we just disembark and look for a tour or take a cab?

    Just can't decide. HELP.PLEASE!

    Thank you for advise!

  14. I would definetly sign up for the zip line thru RCI site before you sail so you get the time you want, and also to guarantee yourself a spot.

Sometimes the afternoon winds are too strong and cancellations occur.

When we did it we booked the 2nd run, got bumped upto the first one and had the time of our lives, and had the rest of the day to enjoy swim, eat, play volleyball, snorkel, eat..........visit the vendors.

    Sea Ya

You are the first one mentioning snorkel - except the tour offered by RCI. Is there a lot to see and at which beach? Is it worth to carry around the masks...?

And one more question: Are there any lockers on the island? Wold love to snorkel with my DH but who shall watch our stuff then?

  15. We're Silver Latitudes and will be on the Dawn if anyone has any info. Thx!!

We are "Silvers",too and had a very nice cocktail party with delicious cocktails:D on board of the Dawn in 2012. Don't remember on which day it was.

Looking forward for the next one coming up soon.

  16. Oh man....we're booked on the Dawn for the last week of January. :(

We will be on the DAWN in April and have been on last year in March. I can hardly wait to get onboard. the staff was terrific and I hesitate to think it might be different this time. I am counting the days and you should just look forward to it and see HOW MANY good reviews you can find here!

  17. Islamorada is my favorite Key but unless you are snorkeling, diving, fishing, or out on a boat, you may be bored to death.

Key West is the most touristy and has a lot to do.

What sort of vacation are you looking for? Be forwarned, there are no natural beaches in the keys. What are there have been brought in so it isn't a deserted island kind of place.

If money is no object, take a look at Little Palm Island and Fisher Island (not part of the keys but a key and private island).

Hi! We will stay some days in the Keys prior to our cruise. but it is Peak Season. Can you recommend a place which is clean and affordable? We want to snorkel.

Would appreciate any kind of help!

    Tammy
