  1. Yes, on Magic 6/17-23. Had to go to Vibe lounge to get a ticket 1 hour before showtime. Limit 2 tickets per person - it was a bit of a madhouse & kind of annoying to have to be there an hour ahead of time. We had a party of 5 so 3 of waited in line to get a total of 5 tickets. Then 10 minutes before showtime they called your ticket number (similar to zones when boarding) & the masses all tried to squeeze through 2 doors into the theater... it was, im my opinion, organized chaos :/

  2. I recently bought champagne & choc strawberries for a friend who was getting married in the Bahamas. I knew her sail date & name, so when I went to check-out in the cart, the system was able to look up her sailing. I then selected what day to have it delivered to her cabin - easy peasy!

  3. I would like to see smoking banned from all indoor areas of the ship and all private balconies. I am not a smoker so I cannot understand the addiction, but have smoking areas where it won't infringe upon anyone else being able to participate in something.

As it is now, I cannot use the casino. It is just too smoky for me and gives me asthma attack. Why do the smokers get full use of the casino? It also pollutes the air to all the surrounding areas.

Just have spots outside where people who have to have a smoke can go. That way no one is impacted unless they are perhaps in a cabin directly over it.

I'm not judging the smokers. Lord knows I have my own vices.....candy bars, cookies, cakes etc!! But me being a porker doesn't really negatively affect anyone else, unless I guess there are those who would claim I was an eyesore and ruining their trip......[emoji4]. But of course they are free to just look away, One can only hold their breath for so long when trying to avoid smoke.

:D @moongal - your "vices" comment made me LOL Love it :D

  4. Pre-paid tips, done! For me, extras include:

    • Porter that takes your bag when you arrive at the port - $1 per bag
    • Bartenders - If the bartender is great, I give $1 extra every drink (which is on top of the added gratuity but goes in his/her pocket) If it's just standard service, no extra $1
    • Room service - $1-$3 per tray
    • Cabin Steward - totally up to you to leave extra. I leave $20 with a note asking to keep us in ice on the first day, usually that is it unless he/she goes above & beyond during the trip then another $10-20 t the end
    • Excursions - we are usually a party of 4 or 5. We tip $20-$40 at the end if we got awesome service & had a blast

I bring small bills & lots of ones -

YMMV, have a great trip & don't overthink this :)

  5. Everyone in the stateroom over 21 has to buy it. From the original post it appears the friend was only 20.

@rexy69 ^^ that is correct, our 3rd pax was under 21.

Have a Blast on your cruise!! Wish I had another one planned:o:)

...as to sharing, I ordered many various drinks to try them, if I didn't like it or was not in the mood, I just passed along to someone else:p:o - we even asked some bartenders for a beer, but asked them not to open it. some did, some wouldn't. "Some" may have found their way into someones suitcase...

  6. This was a quick 3-day to celebrate the end of the Disney College Program for my daughters friend before he returns home to Buffalo NY. My 22 y/o daughter was his trainer & they became fast friends. It was me 56, DD22 & Friend20 in balcony 6414, my other DD24 & her BF20 in a sideways interior 6420.

We live nearby so arrived at Port Canaveral around 10:30am. Splurged and parked at the port (lazy!) - Went through security (easy peasy - they did not check anything!) We were Zone 3, waited about 15 minutes then ALL ABOARD!

We had Cheers! for my 22 y/o DD & myself. Stopped at the 1st bar we saw upon entering, waited & waited & finally got our drink. I tipped $1 each as I planned to do, but bar service was slow and that was the theme for the whole 3 days.

Went to Lido for lunch, tons of options but ended up not grabbing a plate til later. It was so-so.

Rooms ready at 1:30, sideways interior was very nice, our balcony room also nice but a bit warm. It never did get cold, but was do-able. I left a note asking for ice & a $20 for our steward. Came back & found ice & turn-down, met him later Ketut took very good care of us. We tended to sleep in so he could only service our room late. Only got 1 towel animal, but always had ice & clean towels so happy here:)

This was my 6th cruise & not really my fav (except for the people I sailed with:)) Bar service was painfully slow. Literally waited 15-20 minutes to get a drink by the pool. I played a few slots & won $100 yay!

We had your time dining, it was fine. Food was ok. This is the 1st cruise missed Fish n Chips (they closed weird times) Missed room service (didn't ever get a menu, just didn't work out) Missed Guys & Blue Iguana.

Only saw 1 comedy show (OK :-l) Missed all other shows, missed trivia, missed bingo...

First time I gained no weight, lol - for some reason the times food was served on lido was off for the times I was looking for it!

Cheers! was also iffy for us. Ist day I did order 15 drinks (shared) Day 2 was hungover so only ordered a few. Day 3 I had 4-5 drinks & (shared) the balance.

I pre-ordered 3-12/pks water for my room 2-12/pks water for DD interior. Carnival also gave us each 1 liter water (gave to room steward) & free drink coupon (not needed - Cheers!)

Overall - bar service seriously understaffed. All were working their butts off. Cheers was not the best for us, but nice to have pre-paid & no worries about the bill, lol. Wish Carnival would come up with a more realistic 5-8 alcoholic drinks + coffees/soda/shakes...

Ship was nice, beds comfy enough. Still a great value vacay.

Oh - one more thing. I had contacted John Heald on FB & asked for a momento for our College Program graduate - so happy to receive 2 ships on a stick & a plate of choc covered strawberries - SO NICE!!

  7. We are just back today from a 3 day (2nd sailing since dry-dock) Cabin 6414 balcony & sideways interior 6420 - good location, a bit noisy...We had the hair dryers (didn't use them as we brought our own) New bedding, same carpet, small flat TV's.

Did Cheers, kinda mixed thoughts. Bar service was so slow. Mostly 2 bartenders behind every bar working their butts off, literally 15-20 minute wait for a drink. Some super nice, a few were downright surly:mad::eek:.

    Still an overall good time.

  8. My sis & fam are sailing on June 30 & wondered about the casino. I did a search & found this answer:

(snip)"Except in tracy arm or glacier bay or in port".(/endsnip)

Carnival Legend - itinerary as follows:

    Day 1 - 6/30 - Seattle, WA depart 4 PM

    Day 2 - 7/01 - At Sea

Day 3 - 7/02 - Cruise Tracy Arms Fjiord, Alaska - at sea

    Day 4 - 7/03 - Skagway, Alaska 7 AM - 9 PM *

    Day 5 - 7/04 - Juneau, Alaska 7 AM - 3 PM

    Day 6 - 7/05 - Ketchikan, Alaska 7 AM - 1 PM

    Day 7 - 7/06 - Victoria, British Columbia 7:30 PM - 11:59 PM

    Day 8 - 7/07 - Seattle, WA arrive 7 AM

    Here are my sisters questions:

We leave on Tuesday at 4 PM

    Wednesday shows at sea

Thursday shows cruise tracy arm (no stop, just at sea) - wondering if that means no casino?

Friday, shows Skagway 7 AM - 9:00 PM - no casino while in port. Guessing casino opens around 9:30 again until 7 AM?

    Does anyone know?

    Thanks!!

  9. a few years ago my daughters BF lost his wallet at the beach in Nassau, cash, sail card, ID, everything. We went to customs/security to re-board ship, told him ID was lost, he asked for cabin #, name, where we were from, then waved us through. Guest services issued BF a new card. Best part, wallet was found & actually returned to ship INTACT! :)

  10. How visible was it? People are assuming it was in clear view and talking about no cabin cleaning for 110 sailings. In those sailings, no passengers noted it either.

Oh, not visible at all - she entertains herself by removing the entire bottom drawer of the "dresser" to see if there is anything hiding in there - last cruise she was on she found a new bra with tags :o:rolleyes:... Definitely NOT in clear view! (she also looks under mattresses in hotels...)

Not something I do, but we shared R11 and that is what she found, lol!

  11. That has been our cabin for 5 cruises but not then & we don't do pictures anyway.

Side note we were booked to come back on ship R11 Paradise in like two weeks so larry took his ice bucket ( plastic from bar ) put our wine glasses in it & put it behind the life vest's. Yes it was right where he left it. :D

On the Legend just before dry dock I put a very small mark on my mat. so I would know if I got a new one 4191 was our cabin for 7 cruises. The rest of the story I GOT A NEW ONE. Last one in cabin before & first one after.

    Char

    Ha! Funny story:)

  12. OK this is a total long shot - my sister removed the bottom drawer in our cabin Carnival Sensation Cabin # R11 (Porthole) and found a Bon Voyage photo dated October 10, 2013. (It is a fun candid shot in a Carnival photo folder.)

I checked roll call for Oct. 2013 but nada...I'd love to return it to whoever lost it...
