  1. It is possible that two travel agents book a given cabin on the same day and that the system is either currently or incapable of recognising that fact due to poor programming from the outset.

MSC seem to want to appear all sparkly on the outside but under the surface are a complete bag of spanners where the website is concerned, it also seems that with the senior management that the lift does not go all the way to the top floor!

Running a 2017 business with 1930's mentality will never see it improve, it seems that is the Italian way.

I understand that it could be possible that two reservations are going on at the same time, but it had been THREE months since I had booked that suite.

  2. I've had a room booked for a while now for my 5th wedding anniversary cruise and it would also be our first on MSC. My wife and I really liked what we have read about the Yacht Club and the Seaside, so we took the plunge and booked our cruise for Nov 24, 2018. Actually thought that far out that we might just get lucky and be able to book the Royal Suite (YC3). Of course, it sells fast and was unavailable. So we ended up booking a Deluxe Suite (YC1). This was earlier this year in April. In July, my wife had a gut feeling I should check again on the Royal Suite and to our amazement it was there. We were so elated. We booked it!!!!

Fast forward to today, 3 months later. I received a phone call from MSC saying they overbooked the Royal Suite and the other party has paid in full so we were downgraded to a YC1 room. As you can imagine, we are not too happy about this. The lady who called informed me that to accommodate this inconvenience, we were given on board credit. Turns out that amount is only $150. I was so mad and furious, I immediately told her to cancel the cruise. $150 bucks? Are you kidding me?

As of 4 hours after that phone call, my reservation still shows to be active online (maybe it updates overnight). And to further make things worse, the booking is now at a higher rate than what I had originally booked the YC1. So, you're gonna downgrade my room, give me only $150 and charge me more for that same room category than I originally booked? I don't think so!!

So done with MSC before we ever got started. Will likely never sail on their line due to this poor taste in my mouth.

  3. We did it on Allure last December. Can't comment on pricing, because I won them during a round of BINGO!

Anyway, the tour was very awesome. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I will say that it can sell out and I believe I've read on here that you need to book it within the first couple days onboard to make sure you do get a space on a tour. Back to the BINGO, I slipped in to play while my wife went to actually buy tickets for the tour. She couldn't get any because it had sold out, then I won a door prize for the tickets. Totally meant to be! If you have done any behind the scenes type of tours before and enjoyed it, then I think you will enjoy it onboard your ship. As far as the bag, its nothing special, but a decent bag if you want to use it to carry groceries or use it as a beach bag.

  4. Hello Cindy. Do you by chance have all the Cruise Compasses from your cruise? If so, would you mind taking a pic and puttin them here? My wife would greatly appreciate it. She's an excellent planner, but we can't find any for an eastern caribbean post dry dock. Thanks.

  5. Congrats!!

My wife and I spent part of our honeymoon on Allure this past December. She hates bingo in general, even more so on the cruise ships.

We were headed to the theater room for something. Can't remember now. Anywho, I decided to pick up a card since she stopped off to book us on the All Access Tour and before meeting back up with me at the theater. Turns out they were having door prizes for this session.

My wife found me and I knew she was upset with me for playing. Mainly because of the high prices and poor odds. Then she told me about not being able to book us on the tour because it was sold out. She had barely spoken those words to me when they announced the next door prize. Two tickets to the all access tour. Yes, you can see where this is going. Lol

I told her it was ok that it was booked, because I'm going to win the door prize with the tickets! They literally called my name out just after I told her that. I couldn't believe it. It was meant to be! And it only cost me $30 for the tour instead of $300. It was a better prize payout than anything they offered during that session in terms of dollar value. Was a shortened session.

  6. It looked like you guys were having fun!

Here is the link to the picture, and if you're familiar with Flickr just click on the 'three white dots' in the lower right corner of the black field to get other sizes or order a print. I don't get any money from it, just the cost for Flickr to print and mail it.

Thank you. So, I can assume the uploaded pic is full resolution and not a compressed file?

  7. Earlier this month I was on Royal Princess doing a B2B and on the second week we were docked next to Allure of the Seas. Here are a few pictures of her as she sailed away from St. Martin. I hope you enjoy them!

I'd like to get this picture from you. That's me in the white hat and blue shirt along with my wife. We were on our honeymoon and it would be great to have this pic for our photo album. I'll send a message to you with my email address.

Thank you for sharing. Always interesting to see your ship from another ship's perspective.
