We moved from 1838 to 1826 for our October sailing. I noticed that the balcony of the end cabins on each side butted up to the walkway on the deck. I felt like it didn't give as much privacy as if we were down a few cabins. Now we are in the last balcony before it starts the panoramic ocean view cabins. I noticed it on a video on youtube.

You can see the outside of the balcony cabins well, and it shows the 1888 really well at 2:30 minute mark.

We just booked room 1826 in March of 2024 on Voyager.  Any advice?  Anyone know if the rooms were redone with the updates in 2019?

It also depends on what class of cabin you are looking to purchase. I travel solo in the cheapest cabin on the boat. usually when I consider a TA, they can give me the same price as NCL and a $25 OBC- not worth it to give up the ability to purchase spa passes, book my shows. etc. If one was staying in the Haven with multiple people, they are spending 10-20x my cruise price and would get perks to match that.

Why would you be giving up the ability to book spa passes and shows?  You should still be able to log into your NCL account and do that no matter how you book, right?

  3. I was on a cruise with 3 of my buddies.  I roomed with 1 and we decided to skip the briefing.  Since we knew they check to see if you are in your room, we decided to lay under our beds.  He said he can tell you how many squares are in the frame of the bed (585).  I on the other hand fell asleep.  The attached pic is the pic he took of me asleep under the bed...LOL.  BTW... I had been on so many cruises that we were just tired of going to them.  We used to go on 3 or more a year.  I had been on the same ship before this trip as well.  I have gone to all the others before and since then too.

I've been on some that they check you off a list and some they don't.  Most of my cruises have been on Carnival with a few on RCCL, Disney, Commodore (no longer around), and our next two planned for 2019 is NCL and another Carnival.

  4. I asked this question on another board but I am not getting any replies - I am trying again......I am trying to figure out if there is any mechanism in place for on board guests to be able to communicate with each other while at difference locations on board at sea. If I want to let my husband or friend know that I will meet them for lunch in the cafe at noon - I am at the pool and they are on the promenade shopping . . . how can I contact them?..... How can I simply find out "hey, where are you?" How do other people handle this? Let me be very concrete about this question...... I am looking for a way that does not cost an arm and a leg to communicate. If I understand correctly, I can use my phone to txt or whatsapp but charges will incur by using the ships wifi. Silly question but are there portable intercoms that ppl use ? I just down loaded the Firechat app to see if it works....I'll let you know

    Did Firechat work?

  5. Check to see how many ships are in.. if there are just 1 or 2.. it shouldn't be too bad.. if there are more.. may be crowded.

Thanks for the link. It looks like there will be 4 ships (including ours) the day we will be there. My girlfriend really wants to do this, so I'm sure we'll end up going for it. We may have some friends that will want to go to. If so, I'm going to convience them to book the comfort suits at $229 plus other fees and extra 3rd&4th. I figured it would run about $90 a person that way with transportation. That beats the $175 per person that Carnival is charging.

  6. Does anyone think that Atlantis will be very crowded Oct. 16, 2012? My girlfriend and I are going to be on a Carnival Cruise and she really wants to do the waterpark there. We've both been to Nassau several times and been to the casino and stuff, but never done the water park part of it.

Any advice for this time of year is appreciated. Thanks!

  7. Thanks for the info we jus booked our hotel at comfort inn to save money for our day in Atlantis,, NOW ANY ONE HAVE ANY ADVISE TO SAVE ON THE ISLANDS OF ADVENTURE DAY IN ORLANDO I FIND IT CRAZIE THAT IS 169 if u book thru cruis line but it's only 70 to get a day pass into the park ??? Help??

I'm traveling with my family n friends so there is 7 of so at 170 a person that's gonna b one expensive day Lola so any advise helps

If you or anyone in your group live in FL, try to get that rate. Also, where are you staying in Orlando? Many times you can get one of the resorts at Universal for about $149 per person. This may sound a little high when you can get a hotel for around $100 or little less, but when you consider what you get, it's well worth it. Check FL rates if you can and also check AAA rates if have that. The park takes AAA everywhere for 10% discount including food. If you stay at a resort, it's very easy to walk to the parks or take a short boat ride. This will take you to City Walk where there are plenty of restraunts, shops, etc. and the entrance to both parks. Your room keys (everyone in room gets one, even kids) become fast passes for the rides. This is normally $25-$40 (depending on season) per person, per park, per day. Plus the ones you buy only work once per ride. Your room key will work as many times as you like for each ride. The resorts will also have very nice pools and they play movies out at the pool on certain nights. Many times they have tickets for one park and get the second park for free. I definately wouldn't pay the cruise price. Of course it may include a ride, but you might can purchase that seperate too if you need it. Hope this helps! Good Luck!
