Thanks for posting the link which made up my mind that the public beach is the one for us
-
That sounds good, Hank. Are there frequent buses returning to the port?
-
Isn't it difficult to get transport to a beach? When we were there a few years ago, there were very few if any, taxis available and the queue for the long bus was a fiasco. We gave up

Unfortunately the cruiseline policies aren't consistent. I've previously booked direct through the cruiseline and still hit this probem of being unable to change an allocated guarantee cabin

The Blue Light Card offers, which I am a user of, fluctuate and my latest ‘offer’ was 2 x £50 OBC with P&O on the Iona. During the period of the ‘home water’ cruises there were much better offers around. In particular MSC were offering some cracking discounts to NHS staff.
Thanks for clarifying. I misunderstood- I thought you meant the BLC gave discount on sharedealing

If you are a member of the military, NHS, police etc, you are entitled to have a blue light card which gives significant discounts

I already have 100 shares but am in the process of helping my friend buy CCL shares too. She has a Blue Light card.but I can't find which company to buy through. Ant suggestions? Thanks

I have to wear a mask all shift at the vaccination centre and found the same problem with my glasses steaming up until someone told me about "No Fog" wipes. After cleaning my glasses with one, the effect lasts for 24 hours (I bought mine from Amazon but I believe you can buy them at some pharmacies)

@suekay You've hit the nail on the head, prices do drop after the 90 day balance payment deadline.
RCI's policy is different as they mainly (globally) target US travellers and the rules in the US are very different to those in the UK.
Rules are broadly similar this year whether booking Royal Caribbean cruises in the US or the UK. Even in the UK we are getting the benefit of price drops both before and after final payment.
-
Well, it looks like cancellation is a no-go at this stage as the penalty is 60% of the fare. Such a difference from Royal Caribbean. We have another (b2b) Caribbean cruise booked for April 2022 and thanks to the "cruise with confidence " guarantee we can postpone the cruise up to 48 hours prior to sailing plus the "best price guarantee " means Royal will honour any price drop up to final payment date or give equivalent obc if the price drops after final payment. I wonder which line will get our future bookings?!
But thanks to all for your input.....much appreciated

There's been a substantial price drop on our Britannia cruise departing 4th December. Is there any reason we couldn't cancel and lose the deposit then rebook at the lower price? An added complication is that my friend used FCC from a cancelled cruise to pay part of her fare. Thanks for any help from all you experienced P&O'rs

We were in 7674 three weeks ago and had none of the issues raised by the OP.

Only place I know of is where you pick up taxis is a bar, I think it's called Coconut Bar and Grill, where you get free wifi if you buy a drink and it worked ok for us despite a busy bar. At least that was the deal in November 2019.
But at the moment it seems you can only leave the ship to go on an organised ship tour

I have a Worldsim card which I put into an old phone and use it to call my elderly mother from abroad.

Did you not receive the email attached from P&O? I received it three times, one referenced for each of my booked cruises (one of which isnt until December 2022!). If you click on the link in the email it takes you to all the information you need.
I assume from your comments on time off work for testing, you are now able to travel?
We are due to sail on Britannia 4th December and haven't received any emails from P&O regarding pcr test requirements. Had I not been a regular reader of Cruisecritic, we would have been one of those guests arriving at the airport without having had a test

I prebook for 1 and then tell them onboard 2 will be turning up and the 2nd person is my BOGO.
Or even better, follow Little Britain's advice

If we book pre-cruise and pay for both in advance, is the "free" one refunded onboard by way of obc? TIA
We tried this on our recent Jewel cruise and caused chaos☺️. It was eventually sorted, but I think we'll take a chance on getting our preferred time by booking onboard next time
-
Thank you, most helpful. We fly this weekend too (from Manchester)
-
We usually book cruise only, but in view of the current situation have booked a fly-cruise package direct with RCCL for the first time. Very few details available so I'm wondering if any recent cruisers can help.
What is the luggage allowance ?
Is it possible to per-book seats on the plane, and if so, how?
Can you check in for the flight online?
Thanks for any help

Just printed off our Jewel setsail pass and noticed a change of cabin, so my Royal Up bid must have been accepted. I bid £60 ($83) to go from a basic balcony to a spacious ocean view balcony and have been allocated 7674 aft cabin with large balcony and sunbeds. Woo hoo!!!

And yet another price drop leading to more obc. If you're on Jewel sailing from Cyprus you really need to check out the latest prices

Hello,
I have the following but cannot remember when I last used them to know of they are still current:
diamondplus@rccl.com tel: 0800 240 4261
crownanchor.uk@rccl.com tel: 0844 493 4005 & 0844 493 5010 & 01733 865434
I don't know if the last one above is a typo as for the US I have
crownandanchor@rccl.com
Regards,
Cublet
The Diamond Plus number is still current 0800 240 4261. I phoned a few weeks ago and the call was answered almost immediately, but calling today the wait was an hour and forty minutes. Worth it though to get a further substantial obc following a price drop.
