It could be that your travel agent books in a block and there isn't any more availability for that block. It's certainly fair to call and point out that the cabins are generally available and ask why the agent can't book them.

It really comes down to what you value. We'd choose the ship over the cabin or itinerary, unless the ports were exotic. So, Breakaway for us.

I'm sure you can be granted a few extra days. Be careful if you have any additional unpaid bookings (airfare, etc) because those would need to be extended as well.

I think it says CA$, which makes it an even better deal.

I have never had a problem doing this.

We carry annual travel insurance for things like medical evacuation, etc. We do not buy any cruise cancellation or similar types of insurance.

You can just call NCL (if booked directly) or you TA to do this.

I didn't read where you were unhappy with what you got for your dollar. Just that you were upset that other people got more for more dollars.

There is very little chance you will have a problem. I would not hesitate to book a 10AM departure even with a 7AM arrival, let alone 6AM. Getting in at 7AM I've been to the airport and past security at 7:45AM before.

Can you manage to do the Sun's one-way cruise instead of the RT? You will see more on the cruise as well as have the opportunity to do a land tour at the north end. It's a much better experience than the RTs.

We generally take a cruise for spring break. You do need to get a bit creative. Be willing to fly on a day or at a time when typical spring breakers aren't. If this is for a Miami-area cruise, make sure to look at all of MIA/FLL/PBI airports. Look at other airports near you if that makes sense. Consider staying a few days before or after your cruise to travel on a lighter day.

We've never paid substantially more for air during this time, but we do have fewer choices than at other times of the year.

Are you flying in the day of the cruise or spending one or more nights? Often a 1-way rental (picking up at one airport and returning near the other cruise port) isn't any more expensive than a standard car rental. We have done this both directions many times. Doesn't typically make sense unless you're spending a night or more though.

We're looking to try an Oceania cruise, probably in May of 2017. I'm trying to understand how the included air works. We only want to fly Delta (or possibly a sky team partner). We'll also want to spend days in Europe before and after the cruise. So, the standard choice won't work for us.

I understand that we can request a deviation quote, and if we like the choices, pay the fee (per person) for the deviation request along with the possible difference in fare

So, I have two questions

1. When do we know which airfare Oceania would have selected without the deviation? Can we make our request immediately after making deposit since we are within 270 days of the cruise?

2. If we don't accept the deviation offers, can we still request the airfare credit instead of being stuck with the cruise line's choice, even after making deposit?

We all wish we could have our cake and eat it too, but that isn't the way it works when it comes to booking cruises.

We are on the May 14 sailing and while there has been no change as far as we can see so far, I won't be at all surprised if Istanbul is replaced.

Revenue from onboard spending is a big deal and NCL wants you on the ship frequenting the casino, specialty restaurants, shops, etc.

Even Coba from Cozumel is tough. You have to take the ferry, then drive a bit over an hour south. They are nice ruins and while not as extensive as Chichen Itza, still worth seeing.

I would only do this with several hours of leeway. I would not attempt Chichen Itza from Cozumel.

You may have to pay a gratuity based on the price of the package. If so this will be paid in advance.

We also found that in port in Miami we were charged port taxes per drink.
