  1. We got an email for our may 27 NCL Getaway cruise. They said it would be Honduras, Belize, Costa Maya and Cozumel. I love that ship, but I don't have any interest in that itinerary, it was ok once, but not twice.

Interestingly, a second email came saying that they weren't making the announcement until next week.

We are on this cruise as well have not recieved any notification yet.

  2. Jean, I may be able to help. Relic2maggie at yahoo.

    Thanks Maggie

I will get back to you. Summer time means less computer time in my world!

I will send you an email. I am jvminnh@gmail.com

I see you have done the Panama Cruise how was that?

  3. Both our last two cruises we went down to the Cruise consultant office and asked for them.

I really would love a Jewel pin that was our very first cruise that hooked us for life.

If anyone would like to trade I have a Dawn pin or a Pearl pin.

I will provide my email if that is a possibility.

    Thanks Jean

  4. Just got notification of this. Going on the Breakaway in May with our 5 year old daughter, so I was disappointed.

Yup we are on the Breakaway on May too! Got the official email yesterday.

I was taking our granddaughter she is 4 for the first time and had her all prepped for Dora and the pj pack etc.

Now I better come up with a PJ pack of some sort to bring with us. GRRR Still not a deal breaker. I personally find Sponge Bob annoying.

  5. We have not been to Bermuda, but were planning at some point to go there on a cruise.

We live on coastal Georgia next to the beach and don't do the beach when on a cruise or trip.

What is there to do in Bermuda if you don't do beaches?

We did not do any beaches when we went to Bermuda.

Look up the Hamilton Town Crier walking tour, that was great! The man who does them is named Ed and you meet him at the Town Hall in Hamilton I think it is at 10am and I am not sure if those are still going on.

We explored the fort in the Dockyard area. Rode the buses all over the island LOL!

Explored the caves (they are ok but not as good as ones we have seen in Virginia). Walked around all the shops in downtown Hamilton and the Dockyard area. Saw a fantastic parade/bag pipers/band in the dockyard one night. Wanted to mini golf and regular golf ran out of time. That means we have to go back and we are next May!!!

  6. I so wish I could write reviews like you, because I would convince you to go Alaska :-). We were on the May17th sailing on the Pearl and the weather and Alaska were both phenomenal! I could have been sailing on a dingy, and it still would have been an incredible trip. We had absolutely no rain and temps in the high 60s, low 70s except for the evening when it did get a tad bit chilly, but nothing a hoodie or light jacket couldn't handle.

We are Nikon DSLR peeps, but we purchased the Olympus Tough after reading one of your reviews. Love, love, love that camera! While we were in Alaska, DH lugged his DSLR and lens around and took some great pix, but I used the Olympus and my pix turned out just as good :-)

    As always...loving your review!!

    Hi Mitsugirly!

We loved the Dawn and your review is AWESOME! I am also on a mission to sail every NCL ship! I have a lot of catching up to do!

We sail to Bermuda again but on the Breakaway this time. Taking our daughter925) and Granddaughter(5) it will be their first cruise. I am so nervous about our GD but your post remind me children cruise all the time and she will have fun!

    Hi G35girl!

Yes, we both could convince Mitsugirly to go to Alaska and Seattle is a very cool city! The scenery was unreal! The Weather Fanatstic...Pictures O my we have over 1000!

The Pearl I felt was ok BUT the GI issue seemed to detract from our cruise just a bit.

    :):) Jean

  7. We got the free up in April and never paid any gratuity, it's all included in the package.

Our package in May gratuities were included. However the new promo for drinks the gratuity is added to your booking. We were charged 68.04 pp. The package was fine for us this last time and worked out well. We are ok with paying the gratuity for our next cruise.

  8. If you like craft beer, you might be disappointed.

    I second this statement!

Although on our Alaska cruise they did have Alaskan Brewing company beer throughout most of our cruise so that was nice.

But they couldn't or wouldn't make a Black and Tan for me....anyway....

Sadly it is pretty much the usual suspect beer(Corona, Bud light etc.) with the Foster's Oil can , Blue Moon and Sam Adam's, Guinness .

  9. I just got off the ship on Sunday, but I'm afraid I don't remember about the Latitudes reception. We didn't bother to go since we don't drink alcohol and had already met the captain and the rest of the staff at the meet-and-greet. I would have said there was only one Latitudes reception, and another that we were invited to for being suite passengers, but I could be wrong. I'll look through the stuff I brought home and see if I brought any of that information along.

I'll let someone else chime in if they know about the platinum dinner vouchers. We're gold members and had the UDP, so I don't know how that worked.

Hi Ute Fan! As far as I know we never had a Latitude's reception. The first day we had a letter about it being rescheduled then never heard anything about it again. Of Course I also had to hunt down someone for our ships pin too.

  10. Yes , please do come back and let me know how the condo worked out! The condo we booked has a washer/dryer across the hall too. It will help me to pack less, well, in theory anyway :o We sail from Pier 91, so we will have to take some kind of transportation from the condo to the pier, I think?

    Hi Just us.

We stayed in Belltown Condos it was wonderful and a great location for walking to everything.

Not sure where you said your was located but you will need a ride to Pier 91 if you are in that area.

    Washer and Dryer worked great!

    Have fun!

    Jean

  11. As opposed to what, a 'bad hot dog' thread LOL

ain't no such thing as a bad hotdog...it's just that some are better than others

I'm sitting in my hotel in Seattle waiting to board the Jewel tomorrow. The crap I put myself thru just to get to the bottom of these NCL rumors---yes, I'm taking one for the team just by cruising ;)

I probably won't be back online for the next 9 or 10 days...SO YOU ALL BEHAVE YOURSELVES!

Ute & Swedish, you're in charge, let me know if anyone gets out of line ;)

    Enjoy your cruise.

I will be waiting to hear if I need to be a food smuggler or not! :D
