You can’t go wrong with either. The bus ride from Prague could sway you against it. We did Prague as a pre-tour and loved it. I think we had a day and a half in Budapest which hits some high points. If I get another chance I will find more time for Budapest.

Does anyone know if there is enough room for your checked bag and a carry on bag in the compartment under the bus?

Good idea on the Eiffel tickets.

That's what I thought, but they insisted I had to pay it all. I only wanted the $50 choice.
As far as the freebie, they stopped that at least a year ago. That's what they told me before my last cruise.
I guess I'll be calling them again.

What are the different choices of extra fees for Viking Air? I only want to talk to the air department to pick the best flight. they just charged me $150 and I thought it was $50.
Thanks

The reason I originally asked is because we are doing the pre trip extension to the Loire Valley already. The extension only gives you the arrival day to see Paris. My DW and I have already seen Paris, so this is no problem for us. Our other travel mates only care about seeing Notre Dame and climbing the Eiffel Tower. I was hoping to ensure that happens. We will just shoot for the earliest arrival we can get and hope for the best.

I am looking at arriving in Paris, one day before our pre cruise tour to the Loire Valley starts. This would give us a little extra time in Paris.
1. If I get Viking to get us there a day earlier, will they still come pick us up?
2. Will we have to go to the same hotel as they use?
3. Will they take us to a hotel that we chose for that night?
Any ideas would be appreciated.

There was a salad station on one side of the cafe and sushi on the other. We didn't noticed this until later in the cruise.

Milling73 - the future cruise desk is on Deck 2. It was right at the top of the stairs of the atrium, starboard side. You can call them when you get onboard to get a time to see them. They were very helpful. We booked both a river and ocean cruise.

We just got back from Homelands. We liked the Vasa Museum in Stockholm. A lot of people did the two day tour with Alla Tours in St. Pete and loved it. We did the canal tour and it was very good. If you don't have a real desire for Berlin, you might want to do something else. It was a very long day and the trains came back late.

I just got off the Sea and signed up for the Sun's Cuba trip on Dec. 8th. I was told her shakedown cruise will be on the way over the Atlantic and her first with customers will be the Dec 1 cruise to Cuba and Cemtral America. The two Cuba cruises are short ones just to get her ready for the 15th world cruise.

I just signed up onboard. They doubled the returning discount of $200 pp, to $400. They also delay the final payment until 6 months out.

Here is another thing to consider. We are currently on the Sea and some ports of calls are very short. We have had some port calls of only about 5 hours. Not much time to get tired.

For me, I'd rather see stuff than party or relax on a ship. The ship is just a vehicle to get me somewhere.

We didn't have a back balcony, but we loved the Sunset Bar and Jermaine.

It might be worthwhile to wait until we get onboard. Thanks

Just curious if Viking Oceans does like other cruise lines and offer incentives for you to sign up for another cruise while you are onboard the ship?
I see a new itinerary I might like to try, but I'm wondering if I should go get it now, or wait two months and take my chances.

Pleasantly surprised with a phone call from a Viking Rep. She saw this post and figured out who I was and fixed it. Then she called to make sure everything was good. Thanks.

We are on the Homelands Cruise and we are do Iceland as part of a pre tour. We are close enough that our plane flights have been scheduled, but I see nothing for getting from Iceland to Stockholm.
Should I be worried and start checking to see what is going on?

Just logged on to My Viking and they have my flights there. They are horrible. The reason I wanted to talk directly to the air department. [emoji853]

Glad that part ended good for you!

That is where I wrote. Apparently once you use a travel agent you must go through that agent.

This is my fourth cruise with Viking and first using a travel agent. Since Viking won't let me talk to the air department, I either need to stop using Viking or stop using a travel agent.

Well I wrote to Viking and was told they couldn't help me.
Are suites a good choice on an all inclusive cruise.

I decided to splurge for our 40th anniversary and got us the Presidential Suite on the Celebrity Xpedition in the Galapagos for next year. I'm having second thoughts at the moment.
I'm wondering if getting this large of a suite is a smart move since everything is included anyway? Or should I save the money and get a large suite someday on a different ship where there might be more included for the price?
We will do this major purchase only once in our life.
