  1. We always travel with a small can of the Off Spray (they have a dry version that isn’t as smelly) and we spray our ankles.  We have made many friends sharing our spray as they wish they had thought to bring some.  It can definitely save your vacation.

  2. I appreciate this review very much. We were here probably 10 years ago and were wanting to visit again this upcoming April and bring some friends who are first time cruisers so I am doing research.  I am looking for a drink menu/prices. They did have yummy frozen drinks years ago.

  3. I hate paying more too but I know what it cost even at the grocery store and they are having it delivered and loaded on a ship and labor to take it to each individual stateroom.   Even when we were allowed to carry on water I would rather pay for it than carry that heavy water.  And I MUST drink my daily water when I am eating the types of foods and indulging like we do on a vacation. So…a entire case of water is actually less than one alcoholic beverage 💁‍♀️

  4. If you have a local beverage shop many of them have wine tasting areas which is great.  I am a "middle of the road" gal myself.  I generally go for a house chardonnay myself (not too sweet or dry) but just a good amount of alcohol.  I drink bottles that cost anywhere from $8 to $15.    If you want something sparkling then grab a bottle of champagne or proseco.  Those will be the 2 types we pack.

  5. We will be on the Dream the week of Thanksgiving and are planning to go to Little French Key! Thanks for letting us know it was a good experience.

What type of food did you have?

  6. I always enjoy your reviews and am a fan of the Elation and Conquest myself...hoping to do the Sunshine this next year!! :)

I finally talked my mom into going on a cruise with me and we leave out on the Elation May 18th!!!

I just wanted to thank you because after showing your review with the great pics and explanations she was less apprehensive about cruising and is even quite excited!

  7. What a good rule of thumb diet wise? 1200? Low carb high protein?

The weight loss professional that prescribed phentermine for me told me that I need to eat 1200 calories per day and not to eat things that are worthless to my body (chips, candy, soda...you know...good stuff) lol

Lean meats, veggies, fruits, hot green tea in place of 80% of my coffee drinking, and lots of water...

I am really trying to cut my carbs...i will have 1/2 of a baked potatoe instead of a full one...

  8. I love to drink socially, and on my last ship was concerned that my Sign and Sail account would be enormous so I preordered a bottle of rum for my room and I brought the allowed bottle of wine.

HOWEVER, to my surprise I was so busy having fun that I really didn't drink near what I would have socially at home. I would have a couple laying out in the sun, and maybe 1 in the evening, but after filling up on the great food in the MDR and being exhausted from the fun dancing/and/or activities I just didn't drink as much.

I am not a spa girl...I will get my toes and fingers done before I leave...

I use independant excursion folks...way cheaper...

I used my personal digital camera and got great photos on my own...

I am not big on the casino...I can take it or leave it...

Cruising is quite affordable unless you just throw your money around for lots of extras without thinking!

  9. Wow...what fun!! I love what everyone has done! I cruised with Carnival back in August and I didn't see any decorated doors! :(

I will be cruising again the week of Valentines and I think I want to do something then!!

  10. Something warm to put on (a sweater or light jacket) for evening activities on the ship will be a must for me next go around!! I froze even in Mexico in August!

I also will remember an outlet strip...and will be packing lighter! I didn't wear half of what I packed!

  11. Or maybe call a cab to get them to the airport.

Let's see, maybe you could blow the whistle when:

    1. In MDR ... People arrive late, wear shorts, service is slow.

    2. You catch kids playing on the elevator.

    3. Scooter riders could blow it to let you know they are gonna run you over.

    4. When you get tired of waiting for a drink.

    5. You see children in the Solarium.

    6. In the WJ, someone takes too long picking out their food in the buffet line.

    Gotta get me a whistle.

    Other whistle suggestions appreciated.

    Agreed...we ALL need whistles! LOL
