We did early Sept. last year and it was chilly and rained every day !!

Hubby did the excursions and I mostly stayed on the ship.

Uniworld - all you have to do for free transfers is to go back to the airport on the first day of the cruise. Ditto the last day to get into town.

Be very wary of pre- and post-cruise extensions. We do much better on our own.

Uniworld did such a great job with my many food allergies that I hesitate to try another line.

We were in St. Petersburg for White Nights in late June. Chilly at night but very pleasant during the day.

How crowded and crazy is the White Nights celebration in St. Petersberg?

Did it interfere with what you wanted to see? Did you go to any of the events?

We will go with Uniworld, so we spend the nights on the ship - not in hotels. We are deciding on a date for 2014.

Sometimes I like to stay behind and just wander - litle towns and big cities.
