I noticed they have moved the electronic poker table to the sports bar on the Vista class ships. Any insight on if this sparks more play?  The last several cruises I’ve been on there is never a game going. Thanks!

I see you a bit confused about how video poker machines work. To be a legal machine in Nevada, you cannot change the odds of any hand. The machine basically has to emulate exactly how a deck of cards behaves. Now, the RNG basically gives perfect shuffles, but they cannot do anything to alter the odds of getting any particular hand. Instead, they simply change the pay out for the hand. And they must display the payout for each hand.

 

 

 

I mention Nevada, because many jurisdictions look to them as an example. Also, if you are building and programming a machine, you want to be able to sell it anywhere.

Don’t feed into Maniacal. He/She’s uninformed and purposely always looking for conflict.

We have some paper straws set for frozen drinks only. Tested them out at home and they hold up well.

Gambling in the NCL casino is literally a bad bet. Bad odds won't stop addicted gamblers. NCL banks on it.

Haha, as a seasoned gambler I'm well aware. I look for good odds to help stretch my play longer, not because I have any expectation of winning.

Hi, I’ve done a lot of searches and can’t find any info. I assume the odds are not very good, but wondering if any gamblers had insights on NCL’s Video Poker (specifically the bar top games), Craps, and 3 Card Poker Odds.

Just got notice today that I was bumped up to an H5 from my Mini Suite!! I bid the minimum amount to be in the “fair” range. 5/27 sailing on the Getaway.

Great review so far. Excited for more! I sail Getaway in 2 weeks, hoping for an upgrade too!

NCL has real chips/cards and play $2-5 No Limit Texas Holdem. Rake is high, 10% up to $25 per pot.

 

 

 

No electronic poker tables on any NCL ship I've been on (Breakaway, Epic, Jade, Gem). Carnival and Princess have the PokerPro electronic tables, but NCL, Celebrity, RCCL have live dealers and real chips/cards.

Thanks for the clarification. I was indeed talking about the PokerPro tables. Sorry if I caused any confusion thinking I meant Video Poker.

Can’t answer your question. But, I’ve played plenty of cash games on NCL Ships. But, you need to have enough people willing to play a cash game. And, the casino manager has to support those games with a table and dealers.

Do all NCL ships have real chips/cards tables? I've mostly cruised on Carnival and they have electronic tables. Thanks!

Back from 8448. The balcony is huge and we enjoyed. The room shape is different and we loved all the light from the windows. But the carpet was stained, you could see light thru the curtins. Windows were so dirty had trouble seeing out. Dust in room entire cruise. Balcony very rusty and garbage along the bottom. A lot of chair scrapping at all times. Stewart talked DH to once a day and did minimum then. But we had a great time but the ship realy does show it's age, do not know why anyone would love this ship. Christmas decorations and shows were very pretty.
