Why do you assume it came from passengers who went to MP? There are many ways it could have staeted as mentioned above. And I think your use of "stupid passengers" is unfair, everyone I have seen are following all the sanitization requests. It has NOT been identified as Noro nor has it been associated with passengers who went to MachuPichu!!!

  2. John and Tom are correct. It seems to be more of a flu thing, we are also on the ship and it has NOT been connected to those who went to Machu Pichu directly, we went to MP along with almost two hundred others. It is a bit inconvenient, but they are doing the right things and working very hard to get off the Code Red.

  3. Great review, thank you. We are booked on the Debussy next year with a shorter itinerary, but many of the same ports, so I found your list of favorites interesting, as some of them are ones we are interested in. It also sounds as if they do offer excursions in Amsterdam during the overnights......just checking if that is right, as I can see excursions for every port except Amsterdam and we were trying to decide if we would just be on our own while docked overnight for two nights or inot.

Thanks again for such a detailed review, you have definitely upped my excitement.

  4. agree with all the posts above, both situations are not normal and need to be addressed as soon as possible. Contact the Head Housekeeper for the cabin issues and the F&B Manager regarding the wine.......there are always other choices available. The room steward should have stopped by and introduced him/her self the first afternoon/evening and discussed any particular needs with you, including your beverage choices. Hope these things get resolved soon so that you can relax and enjoy your cruise.

  5. Having a great time. We are in an F2, very spacious and we love the angled balcony. We even have empty drawers! Service has been fantastic. Did have an issue yesterday at pool grill, my hot dog never came and then when it did was wrong. At that point I said I didn't need it. A few minutes later Katarina was at my table, telling me I absolutely needed my lunch, she personally took the order, may have fixed it herself and as one of our table mates said, did everything but hand feed it to me! We all got a laugh out of that, and the hot dog was good and exactly like I asked for it. We have dinner most nights with a group of 9, and have found a table in the back for 8 that seats 9 just fine. Last night in Prime7 we again had a table of 8 in the back and we were fine. The Staff seem happy, they are always smiling and saying "hello" and we are having a great time. Our suite has a light door whistle sometimes, nothing others.....we just crack the door open and it goes away.

So all in all off to a great start.

  6. Marq - definitely arriving late evening of the 19th, since we are using Regent air on this, I already had Regent book us an extra night at the hotel. I know we could have done better doing it on our own, but we just decided this way Regent would meet us and transfer us to hotel and we wouldn't have to deal with it after flying all day and sitting in airports and arriving late.

  7. yes agree Marq, very rowdy group, can't wait.

wine during trivia for me and usually most of the time. :D Got our docs yesterday finally, now time to start planning the fun. Excited to sail on Explorer and see everyone we know, and look forward to meeting some new people. I think this ship will be rockin its way (in the party sense) across the Atlantic.

  8. Int, eresting that you were told that by the Cruise Consultant, as we have always been informed of this $100 per person admin fee when booking onboard or with our TA, and usually the guest copy invoice states this clearly. But the good news is that fee is available to you as a cruise credit as long as you book another cruise within a year of cancelling.....so basically if you pick something else, you really haven't lost any $$$, though your frustration is understandable given what you were told by the CC. Hope you find something else to book so you can use that credit.

  9. Loving all these great comments on the F2's on Explorer, specifically the 4 angled balcony ones. We have 911 on our upcoming March cruise, chosen by our TA, and I had not even noticed that until she sent me the confirmation with the cabin number. Sounds like we just lucked into a great cabin.:D

Dave, Jackie and Marcie........looking forward to seeing you all.

  10. Adding to Jim and Rachel above. We have done both our own air and used Regent's, and we have been happy with Regent Air, but, we don't wait until 60 days before to find out our air schedule, which is when Regent confirms the air, instead we pay the deviation fee to get our air confirmed at 270 days out, and then as JimB says we check the seats and change them if we don't like them. To us its well worth the deviation fee to get flights we want, especially since we no longer live in a major airport city and have to add on our city to a major one, or drive to DC. Sometimes we have only used Regent air one way, which can be done, and either purchased tickets or used miles the other.

For instance on our March cruise, we bought tickets to MIA, but will use Regent air from Venice back to our home.

  11. Agree with all above. Get a good TA who is very knowledgeable with Regent, it is well to your advantage. They can advise about location, air, help you pick good flights, compare differences in categories, etc, and as said most will offer some kind of rebate, may have shipboard credits, or group perks available. Also can help you with insurance questions and such.

As to negative comments on Yelp, have never seen those, as I don't usually use Yelp, if I use anything its Trip Advisor, but agree again, read the reviews here on CC.

    Hope you enjoy your cruise.

  12. We have had cancelled ports many many times, it is what it is. The safety of crew and passenger is of utmost importance to Regent, and in general any cruise line. One should not expect compensation for the cruise line doing its job and taking the safety of everyone as first priority.

We live in Williamsburg VA, and Mathew hit us harder than expected, we were out of power for 16 hours or so, just now only got our internet back....don't expect any compensation from either the power company or Cox, it is what it is......we are just grateful to have our power back.

  13. Thanks for the table information Rachel, I figured that would be the case, although Compass Rose usually has some larger tables, but perhaps not on the Explorer. Will have to just figure it out once onboard.

Amalfi sounds wonderful, we were scheduled for that port on a cruise, but due to winds we had to miss it and go to Naples instead, very disappointing, but those things can't be controlled.

Continue to enjoy your posts and pictures. Did you take any of the cabin other than the bathroom one you posted?
