We have done 10 cruises with Fred Olsen including three this year and have been on all 4 ships. We have never experienced novo virus on any of our cruises so don't panic!:)

Have been on all Olsen ships and seen very few proper formal gowns. I use evening trousers and a few shiny tops which gets me through several formal evenings.

Went to Amsterdam on Braemar 2014 and moored in Amsterdam within sight of Central Station. Not too fat to walk.

we have been on several 13 or 14 night cruises and always 3 formal nights up to now. We also had a British night and the other themed nights now seem to have disappeared. I have evening trousers and several shiny tops and that does the trick. Smart casual nights are the rest.

We have always booked direct with Fred Olsen and have been offered free upgrades on two occasions. We are always in the suites section anyway so pretty sure of a decent upgrade. This year we were offered by telephone an upgrade from marquee suite to premier suite on Balmoral, at a cost but we refused it as the balcony had restricted view and we knew our booked cabin had a great view. Can work with Fred or travel agent.

I have always been travel sick so went to the doctor and he gave me the patches. what a revelation and so easy. put one on day before you go and each patch lasts three days. It goes behind the ear and about the size of a 10p piece. 5 cruises down; two about to happen and two more booked so you can tell they have worked.

Excluding the fjords, all these ports of call are quite small and can be easily wandered around. Many have little trains and buses that you can use yourself. Tours are fine if you want to go further afield or like to be given information. We have been to all these stops and rarely ever done an official tour

Fred Olsen just released their Norwegian 2015 cruises. We've booked another one!

Am famous for travel sickness, even in the car but since getting the patches from the doctor we have hit Olsen cruises with a happy heart. About to do our 6th and 7th cruise!
-
We have always had a balcony on all ships but to get the space and privacy, we go for a suite. More expensive but I couldn't do it any other way now. We tend to go for the top deck of cabins which are nearly always suites anyway.

I have always been seasick on ferries and cruisers but went to the doctor on my first cruise and he gave me the patch for behind the ear. I have used them every cruise and they really work. We are about to have our 6th and 7th cruise which tells you how successful they are!

Have travelled on Boudicca several times and yes, there is the cafe/restaurant where you do not need to dress up. The formal nights are not evening dresses or very formal. I just use evening trousers and a shiny top and many do the same.

We use one on all our Fred Olsen cruises and hang it over wardrobe or bathroom door. It has see through plastic pockets which means we can see inside easily. It holds camera, chargers, sewing kit and heaps more saving work top space as well

Yes the suite is bigger than the straight balcony cabin and we always appreciate the extra room. Going in a Braemar superior suite next July.

Reception will remove automatic tipping if you ask. Their charge per night per person gets to your table waiters and your rom hostess.
-
We always book direct through Fred Olsen. A deposit is require but the balance is always 3 months before going so longer than that must surely be down to your TA
-
We are sailing on Braemar July 2014 so she is definitely under Fred Olsen next year!
-
We always take a thing with lots of pockets that can hang on a door. All things such as camera, tablets etc can all fit in their own see-through pocket; keeps them in one place and leaves work top space clear

Bergen very doable by yourself. Near the Bryggen there is the little train which takes you up higher so you can see view down and the cable car is also within walking distance. Bergen is easy to walkaround
Parking at Liverpool Cruise Terminal
in Fred. Olsen Cruise Line

we have sailed from Liverpool several times and travel down the day before. we stay at the Crowne Plaza just behind the cruise terminal and do a stay, park and go package so the car is left there until our return. it is so easy and no hassle with the car.
