I  just found your reviews and wanted to thank you for all the time and effort involved in posting these.  I always like your photos and  your commentary on the ships and the ports. Celebrity is our favorite line along with Royal Caribbean but we just tried Norwegian for the first time and I really liked the Getaway. Happy sailing, and I am already looking forward to your next reviews. Hope you and your family are all well.

Thanks for taking the time to share detailed information about your cruise. We booked the Anthem for next October to New England /Canada and I read everything I can about the ship, even though it is a different destination.

That is correct, sorry about that !

Not really, just more cabins and a couple more speciality restaurants. We preferred Silhouette! We have sailed all the Solstice class ships.

Very good prices on Celebrity Silhuette April16-23 out of FLL. Balcony prices start at $799 for the Western Caribbean route. We personally like the 1A category, $1149 (larger balcony) and you can choose two perks like $300 per cabin onboard credit and free grats. !

Great entertaining review with great pics . I always look forward to your reviews. We did the Southern Caribbean out of San Juan in Nov. on Adventure OTS. It was the smallest ship we have sailed on but we enjoyed it very much and the crew was the best of any ship we have been on. Looking forward to your next installment!

I had been looking forward to your review and found it yesterday . Welcome back to CC! Are you sure you were on a Carnival ship? It looks nothing like the others I have seen in reviews. We have never sailed Carnival but seeing your pics we may look into sailing on this ship as it looks very modern, which I like. Is most of the ship non-smoking, especially the casino? Thanks!

Yes, I suppose some of it may depend on exact cabin too.

Our cabin is 7414 and I am a little disappointed in the obstructive view but maybe the size of the balcony and the view of the wake will make up for it, so possibly not a deal breaker.

We booked the Freedom six night Western Caribbean cruise for Dec 2017 while on the Adventure OTS Nov. 26 th Southern Caribbean cruise from San Juan. I was hoping to find a decent review before our sailing next year and was delighted to find your review so I subscribed right away. We booked an aft mini suite on deck seven. We have never had an aft cabin nor a suite (fellow cheepo) but decided to splurge since we would be getting a future cruise discount from our Adventure sailing amounting to 25% off based on our cruise fare. The price was still more than I wanted to pay, especially for only a six day cruise, but we can still change the booking. This may depend upon your review. No pressure Harry!

- First time without the kids

- First time on Vista

- First time visiting Bonaire

- First time doing an eleven day cruise

- First time doing a B2B with another cruise line after getting off Vista. Getting on Norwegian Getaway for 7 days.

They were still testing and waiting on a part in San Juan when we ended our cruise on Dec 3rd. The lady testing it was not sure when it would open.

I also had a respiratory infection when we returned but I thought it might be from the YVR to Houston flight where I sat beside a lady who hacked and coughed the entire time. She said it was from an allergy and I really did feel sorry for her. It finally started clearing up yesterday.We had a great time and I now understand why everyone says that their Alaskan cruise was the best ever. Our first time cruisers were impressed with Celebrity as well as the other couple who had only cruised Carnival and said that there was no comparison and will probably cruise with Celebrity again. Looking forward to the rest of your review and pics to see what we missed. It was nice meeting you and the rest of the roll call crew at the CC meeting and at the slot pull which was a lot of fun.
