  1. I just got off the phone with a Celebrity agent, who told me the 9/6 trip is not cancelled. She stated that it no longer shows up on the website because there are no more cabins available.

I was monitoring the number of available cabins frequently last week, as I was considering upgrading. I looked at all categories, just to get an idea of the number of passengers. Based on what I saw, I guestimate that only 15-20% of the cabins per booked, all categories.

So, if what I was just told it true, Celebrity planned for a very small percentage of passengers on this sailing.

We are to sail Sept 6. How do you know how many guests will be onboard?  Also I have not been able to get an arrival time so that makes me think they may cancel it.

We are booked on Sept 6 as well. Some time on Friday, the Sept 6th trip disappeared from Celebrity's web site, and has not shown up since. Friday morning, there was a significant amount of available cabins, all categories.

  3. Ok, here is some feedback on 8203:

    1. There is a square pole in the cabin. Honestly, while there, it does not get in the way, and not a factor in my opinion.

    2. While above the the teen center, there was no noise from the space below.

    3. We did not have access to 9203, so cannot comment.

    4. Bath was decent size with large whirlpool tub. Separate shower was a bit tight.

  4. I and 3 others sailed with this group on the Oasis back on January 22, 2017. You can search for the sailing Roll Call to read others' feedback on sailing with this group.

During our sailing, more areas than normal were closed off for the group's private functions, primarily during the day. So, this did not affect us much as non group cruisers. The Wipeout Cafe was closed off to non group guests for the entire cruise. The wife also remembers that the Solarium Cafe was exclusive to the group for breakfast and lunch each day.

The group includes many children, more than what I would have ever expected on a sailing that time of year.

We had a great time on the sailing. It was our first experience on an Oasis class ship.

  5. Doesn't matter, if you see a lower price you can cancel and re-order.

FYI....Last week I went online to purchase our Drink Packages for an October Harmony trip. I received an error message while processing, so I had to call to order. I had $100 OBC available that I could have used, but when talking with the rep, he told me that if I canceled the drink packages, I would be refunded the out of pocket money to purchase, but I would not get back the OBC. I asked him multiple times to clarify in the event I did not understand him. I ultimately purchased without using the OBC, in the event the price drops. I was a bit surprised that I would not have been credited the OBC.

  6. Here are some fun facts about Edge:

    1. Total area (sqft) of cabin space on the ship is 327,889 sqft. This does not include balcony area, only cabin area.

    2. Out of the total cabin area stated above, 66,868 sqft is taken up by suite cabins, which equates to 20.4% of total cabin area.

    3. With a total number of 1467 staterooms, 176 are suites. Assuming double occupancy, and sold out ship (2,918 guests), the suite guest total is 352 passengers, or 12% of the total number of guests.

  7. You mean 1 Star; that is what you also get if you sail on HAL and have never sailed on a Carnival Corp cruise line. It is the first lever of Mariner status (from 1 to 5 Star).

All of them do it: on our QM2 cruise we were Silver World Club members due to sailing on Princess (and HAL) before.
