  1. Thanks! And we love snorkeling and it seems there is a high chance of even seeing sharks and not that snorkeling isn't absolutely fantastic, but most of us have been countless times and the river/cave tubing seems really interesting. Plus we have a group of 7 that would go on the excursion - tubing might be a better group activity...

Does anyone know if there is alcohol on the tubing trip by chance?

  2. No one is posting about manatees in belize... is it possible to snorkel with them? How likely is it that you see them?

I'm trying to decide between a snorkeling trip (with the hopes of seeing manatees) or cave tubing and I am having trouble.

How does the snorkeling compare to the Caymen Islands or Bonaire - two of the places I'd say had the best scuba or snorkeling I've done before?

  3. In St Kitts, I am not interested the usual touristy stops, the only touristy thing that interests me is the Black Rocks, and MT Liamuiga views. I would love to spend a bit of time at some beaches Cockleshell Beach, Frigate Bay, Turtle Beach as well as South Friars Bay beach, I dont know how far away these beaches are from one another, but i think it would be fun to spend the day Beach Hopping. Perhaps see 3 or 4 beaches spend an hour or two at each and enjoy scenic drives along the way from one to the other! I have emailed Royston for pricing. Can anyone shed some light on this idea? would it be better to hire a Taxi when i get to port?

This is exactly what I'm interested in this December. Does anyone have any insights on this???

  4. I see a lot of the private tour companies talk about a "sightseeing" tour, but in the description the only talk about stopping at mountain top. Is there anything else that we could see in St Thomas other than Blackbeard's castle/99 Steps/Charlotte Amelia, which is walking distance IMO. Anything that requires driving to?

We are wanting to see Mountain Top and also go the Coki Beach/Coral World, and if that's all we're seeing it will be cheaper to get a three taxi rides ($24 pp) than to go with a tour ($35 pp) unless I am missing something? This way we would also get to stay at each place for the amount of time we want...?

  5. We're looking at cruising with Princess next year on a round trip Alaska from Seattle. Does Princess ALWAYS leave out of Pier 91?

We're going to be in town the day before, but were hoping to explore the city a little before boarding the ship on cruise day. What time will we need to be at the pier to board the ship by 4 pm? Is it always crowded sailing out of Seattle?

Will we have time to see a few places before boarding the ship?

  6. Thanks - I've been reading past posts about bears and it seems that the money we would have spent for a balcony MUST be spent on a trip with Island Wngs to Anan... wow $485 a person!! But, we will only be in Alaska probably once in our lives and we can't skimp on our bear viewing opportunity, right?? :)

Who needs a balcony, anyway... lol

  7. Thanks everyone for so many opinions! I really appreciate it. I'm thinking we will do inside in July. I know for sure one of the things we want is to see bears so even though May will be cheaper, we'll go with July. The inside in July is still cheaper than a balcony in May, so we will be sure not to skimp on excursions. I think we will even go with the excursion in Tracy Arm Fjord to get off the boat and get a little closer to everything since we won't have the balcony :)

  8. DH and I have never been to Alaska and are wanting to go next year... It's on the bucket list and this will probably be our only trip to AK. We love cruising and Alaska is perfect for it so, why not... but AK cruises are VERY high compared to our cheap Caribbean cruises. I'm not sure if we can afford to go at the best time (July) and get a balcony. So, my question is this... what would be better, getting a balcony room in May or getting an inside room in July?

If we have to suffer with an inside room (though who is really suffering on a cruise), how crowded do the top decks get? Will we be able to sit down with a view?

Primarily we are nature people - would love to see glaciers and wildlife (whales & bears of course). Our favorite Caribbean places have all been where we hiked to waterfalls and got off the beaten path.
