  1. No one looks at your check in time at Port Canaveral or Ft Lauderdale. People that have later check in times were boarding along with us . They were 1 hour early . 😂😂😂  Everyone still has to wait until after 1 to get to their staterooms. Enjoy your vacation 😊🏝️🏖️☀️☀️☀️☀️

  2. We were on Symphony in February and returning in April. Loved Chops as usual but I have to say that the Windjammer had a lot of fried foods, and not a great selection of food in general there for dinner. Was a bit disappointed. We have been spoiled by the Wonder of the Seas. They have a beautiful Windjammer and excellent food. Symphony was great otherwise. Aruba , Curaçao and Labadee were great ports. If you want to go to Eagle Beach or Palm Beach in Aruba walk from the ship to the bus station which is across the main road I’m sure there are signs but it only costs $2.60 per person to take the bus one way to the beach. Well worth it. Enjoy your cruise.

I've never sailed RCC, but looking at an end of May 2024/early June 2024 Caribbean cruise for my husband and myself and our three kids, who will be 16, 21 and 22 at the time of the cruise. We'd get two cabins - one for the kids and one for us. Trying to decide whether to splurge on Wonder of the Seas ($7,700 for the cruise) or save money on Harmony of the Seas ($5,500). We'd be happy with either itinerary. I've looked at both ships and they seem fine, but as someone who has never sailed RCC, I don't know how much difference a new ship makes versus one that will be 8 years old at the time of the cruise.  The Icon of the Seas will be out by then, too, but that cruise is at $9,800, so I'm just gonna skip that one as an option since I'm sure Wonder of the Seas would be just fine if we opt for new and $2K less.

  4. We were on Wonder last week and it’s only once a day cleaning , but our stateroom attendant had a hissy fit when we asked for extra towels. I have also seen on RCCL Blog that gratuities are going up if you book after November 11th for suites and balconies. Less service more money. Not good , because we all leave a little extra besides initial gratuities. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I agree it’s a great ship. Booked 10 months in advance and read constant complaints online leading up to our cruise. Once onboard all the things I heard people complain about were really minor and didn’t affect our experience. It was absolutely the best vacation we’ve had. My wife is begging me to book another cruise on Wonder.

We are going back on the Wonder in November. It was such a great trip in February. 😊

We are also Diamond Plus and we are going to do the BOGO deal, do you happen to remember the price on board for Chops & Giovanni's? I know someone once suggested to just buy what restaurants you are interested in from the cruise planner and only buy for one person and then both people show up to the reservation, I somehow do not think they would allow this. Sorry OP, not trying to hijack your post 🙂

Giovanni’s was $58.99 per person and I think Chops was $76.99 per person. I book those as soon as I get on the ship because they fill up quickly, especially Chops 😊

  7. We were on that sailing in February. Giovanni’s was a disappointment. Not like the Giovanni’s on Oasis or Allure. We are Diamond Plus so we got the BOGO. We chose Chops and Giovanni’s. Chops was great. We had a great cruise. We were in a Central Park balcony which was wonderful. Loved the Windjammer , Solarium Bistro, Central Park Cafe, Sorrento’s Pizza etc. Trellis Bar in Central Park is great. Don’t let people get you down if you have a cruise booked on Wonder. It was a great cruise. Just get on that ship and enjoy.

  8. That is true. We cruised in April and the signs were there for Diamond Plus to board . We have always been able  to experience the priority boarding heading to the security area, but on Sunday October 28th we were in a line and had to wait for over an hour to get to the security area. We were in a balcony not a suite but they should still recognize the Diamond Plus cruisers as they did in the past. When we got to the actual check in line inside the terminal we spoke to a supervisor and she stated they had visitors from the management last week and they made the decision to stop this.

  9. I tip $25 at the end of the cruise since you have more than one server getting drinks for you. I don't drink alcohol but my husband does. They will get me a soda but they are still serving me and they work so hard and are such a great group, this was on the Oasis. They put all the tips together and split it at the end they told me.

  10. After reading all your posts regarding travel insurance I did some calling today and the best plan I came up with for additional medical coverage was Travel Insured International. They offer $100,000 medical benefits and $1,000,000 medical evacuation. It is called the World Wide Trip Protector Plus plan and it goes by the date you booked your cruise, the deposit amount ,the balance of your trip, the dates you are traveling, and your age. They gave me a quote of $212.00 for both myself and my husband. I called my medical insurance here in the states and they told me that was a good plan and good idea. Most insurances require you to pay your hospital bill upfront if that is the case for example in Jamaica but with the additional travel insurance this plan will pay the first $100,000 if you are admitted and you have a bill such as that. Also make sure any plan you choose they are the primary payer. The plans offers a lot more coverage for airfare, baggage delay, trip delay etc.... I was more interested in the medical aspect of the plan.

Thanks again to whoever started this post. I have been very lucky all these years cruising but when I saw this post and read some of the stories I said better to be safe than sorry .

    Thanks again

  11. I booked my cruise for April 17 2016 on March 14th 2014 on board the ship got a great deal. Watched the prices as the fare doubled in price then about 3weeks ago they had a drastic price drop and the price I paid and the price they were offering were $30 difference.

I booked a balcony on a 7 night cruise so there was a significant price drop. I checked cruise.com because there web site is way easier to use and there were over 94 balconies when I checked that were empty...... Never got to check other categories to see what was available. Now the cruise is sold out.....
