Where to stay in boston for a day before cruise on oct 5.sailing on oct6
On the Veendam cruise between Boston and Montréal, we just ran into folks from Florida. Through VRBO.com, they found accommodations in Cambridge (for 3 days) that were cheaper than anything else available. Since Cambridge is right across the Charles River from Boston, they had no difficulty getting around via the MBTA, the public transit system.

ESTA is a visa waiver program for citizens of certain countries to visit the US.
To visit Canada as a US citizen, you just need a passport.
For our Canada/New England cruise, my wife and I will have our passports, but our 15 year old daughter will have only her birth certificate. I believe that is sufficient. Does anyone know for sure?

Thanks for taking the time to make this and post this. A clear reminder of (no surprise) the ms Maasdam's sister ship, the ms Veendam. We'll be sailing on the Maasdam end of July.

I was also on this cruise. It was the most disappointing cruise vacation I've ever had...
Be happy you were not on the 8/23 Gem sailing. Although we loved the cruise, the thousands of scurrying school-age kids with no, uh, what did they use to call them...oh, MANNERS...got to us more than a few times.
