  1. MiamiC - How did you find it Aurea Class ? - With us being from over the other side of the pond, Europeans don't bother us btw ..lol

As fellow scousers sailing MSC for the first time on Davina, I LOVE your signature, I too am an old hand on the Royal Iris, Royal Daffodil etc. You made me smile!:D

  2. The person that told my travel agent that it wasn't an option was her MSC contact so I basically was asking do they know what they are talking about? I guess I will just have to wait until I'm on the ship to try. Thanks all

I am on the Davina in October and I asked the same question of my TA. When she said I couldn't do it without paying the full amount for the Deluxe package, even though the classic package is included in price already, I couldn't quite believe it.! So I wrote direct to MSC and got the same response. You have to pay the full price for the deluxe package there is no upgrade. Quite Bizarre!! That would cost us an extra £550 for the week! Like you I will wait until I am on the ship and see what happens then

  3. Well you definitely picked a great ship to experience your first Carnival Cruise. I took my first Carnival cruise in 2005 on the Carnival Valor and I haven't cruised with anyone else.....and I don't think I ever will either.

Enjoy your cruise on the Vista

    Hey Brianna.

Myself and my two friends are sailing on the Breeze on 6th Sept with your itinerary and I think this is the best review I have ever read. You have made me even more excited if that's possible! We were a bit wary as we are from Liverpool England and have only really sailed on the Med with Royal Caribbean and Celebrity. Although in our 50's with a big 0 birthday coming up we have holidayed together for 17 years, leaving husbands and children at home ( although we do let them come occasionally!!). We call it "Girls on Tour" and our motto is that you are a long time dead!! Based on your review we have booked the Bar Hop which looks great fun! Big debate is whether to buy the Cheers programme, we do have fun on holiday, so it may be worth it...any thoughts for us??? Thanks again for a great review, I actually feel like I was with you and that's a gift . I see you are a big sports fan as are we, Liverpool Football Club is our team "you'll never walk alone". Our Football season starts in August, did you notice if they had any Soccer games on the big screens??

  4. I would be worth it to us if every day was a sea day. The problem is on port days we never have that many drinks on the ship. I'm a martini gal and there's no way I can drink 6-7 martinis between dinner and bed, I'd be on the floor. In our experience, carnival makes their martinis strong. So it depends how you drink and what you drink.

We like to buy a $500 gift card and use that for "pre-paying" for drinks. That way, if we use it we use it. If we don't use it all, we don't waste that money and can use it for some thing else. Last cruise we spend about $370 on drinks and were able to use the other $130 on gambling.

We are 4 Liverpool England Lasses joining the Breeze in September. We have been known to like the odd drink(!) but are new to Carnival and are interested in what you had to say about Gift cards. Can you give us any information on them?? How do we get them....how do they work.. and can you chose any amount?

    Any help much appreciated

  5. This is a great review for us greenhorns from the UK. I have been on Royal Carribbean and Celebrity before but never Carnival. We are 4 Friends who work together and have been going on Girly holidays for 10 years and I have finally persuaded them to do a cruise. We are all 60 next year so as well as our individual family holidays thought we would do something special together. I was worried because reading some of the reviews, I thought that maybe we were the wrong age group?? We are not adverse to a bit of a party ourselves but Carnival certainly seems like the party cruise line. I am reassured by your post though, looks like we wont be the only more mature cruisers! We are looking at this ship for next year, 3 days in New Orleans and then 7 on the ship. Can't wait for your next post!!
