Which is why they charge that price. People are apparently willing to pay it.
Clearly, as they always sell out, on the sailings I'm one.

Oh my goodness I can’t believe that. The price of the cabana is outrageous and now the drinks we paid for aren’t included on carnivals own island 🙈
I agree the cost of the cabana is outrageous. We still book them when they are available, but the price has gotten pretty high. We normally take a small softsided cooler with us and and the days leading up to HMC, we grab extra beers, never had an issue getting them unopened and taking them ashore with us. Since the cabana has a fridge and they give you a container with ice, no problem keeping the cold.

Maybe this:
you have to back space the booking number out and put yours in its place. You must also be sign into the Carnival site.
Thanks for this!

I was just able to book a room for Hyatt Place Dania Beach for April 2020, for under $160 including tax. It was a prepaid non refundable rate. I've stayed at this location and it was a nice place. They do offer free airport shuttle, and there is a fee for port service (I think it was like $8 or $9 pp). Also, free breakfast if you are a Hyatt memeber.

We just got off the Conquest and spent most of our time between the Piano Bar and the Alchemy Bar. We had a great time in the Piano Bar with Tommy G. He'd see us in the Alchemy Bar and come talk with us before his first gig of the night. Of the group of us that were in there every night, we were usually last. We'd walk in and he'd say, "The gang's all here!" LOL. And if you enjoy "adult" songs, request them. We had a great time with the trifecta - ask for the trifecta adult songs - he should know what that means. :)
Is it 11 yet...time for the trifecta!!!

Okay I'll start. We had 7258 on Legend and it's one of the "bowling alley" balconies. I loved it! :)
We've had this cabin twice on the Pride. The balcony is FANTASTIC!!! We already have her booked again for 2016! :D

Ah OK, thank you. It's perhaps not such a good deal if you don't already have the points. The best I can tell, you earn 10 points for $200 of spending? If so, the same $200 of spending would get me $6.80 of benefit on my Sapphire. Plus I'd earn another $3.40 for putting the $100 on the Sapphire. Net/net I'm slightly better off charging on the Sapphire. I guess the $100 and $250 stack through multiple transactions, but still tough to justify the GC route here.
At ~2% rewards (for instance Cap1 Venture, or Barclay Arrival), the $300 of spending amounts to $6. Probably not worth the risk and hassle, and the credit hit for a new card, for the difference. The Cap2 and Arrival have annual fees, but those are washed out for several years by the sign on bonus (when they are good) and extra earnings on other purchases.
Still, this is a great option for people who have the points already. Thanks!
To be honest I wasn't sure how I earned the points. Per the site once you open the account you are given points and it looks like you get 10 for every $100. If you go to citieasydeals dot com and click get started there are two cards you can apply for. It states you get 1000 bonus points when you are approved for the card. So that might help after all.

That is a great tip! Can I ask what card you are using? I have ThankYou and AAdvantage linked cards and don't see this as an option. Citi doesn't seem to have a Citi-points type program, so I'm guessing you have one of the cash rewards cards (but the rewards are expressed as points on the website)? If not, please let me know which 'benefits' category this falls under on the website. I owe a bit over $3k on our upcoming Alaska cruise, plus excursions and onboard spending, so 10% would probably be worth acquiring a new card.
I have the City Diamond Preferred. The points are linked to Citi Easy Deals. This used to be my primary card so I have a couple thousand points and it only cost 10 points per $100 ecard you buy for $90. I'm so glad I stumbled unto it.

Just an FYI, if you have a CitiBank credit card where you get points towards things (not free, just discounted), they now offer the Carnival Ecards. It's $90 in for $100 ecard. I purchased $750 worth of the ecards and only paid $670 for them. I had no problems applying them to make my final paymeny (I did it online). It saved me $75 and will be doing this to pay off my April cruise as well. We have an account we put money in everyweek, so I just transferred the money and the credit card is paid off.
Just to be clear these are not those voucher things that many card companies have been offering, but the Carnival eGiftCards. Also, you can get them in $50 denominations for $45.

I also suggest the BW in Elkridge, with booking via trinity reservations. We've stayed their 3 times. There is a HUGE shopping complex with a casino about 10-15 minutes away.

I have 2 voucher available for the 4/23/16 Pride sailing from Baltimore to GT, HMC, and Nassau. I booked on 9/1/14, and the need to be used within 60 days of my booking. Please let me know if you are interested. Hate to see them go to waste.

I am also boarding the Pride on Sunday and am from Bucks County, PA.

Loving the review!! It's getting me ready for the Pride this coming Sunday. :D

We are getting $50pp on board credit. But the cruise is $100 more than what we were booked on.
When my Splendor cruise was canceled we also got the OBC, but the also offered to honor our rate for the same category on another cruise of the same length.

I've been checking on a price for the Pride for the April 24, 2016 sailing for months. My plan was to book while on board in a few weeks. Just looked today, and now they only have 1 sailing for April 3, 2016 listed. I hope they get this figured out with in the next week or so, before we leave.

Hello! We are driving from Pittsburgh and want to stay at a hotel that offers Park n Cruise deals. I found 3 so far.
Hilton Garden Inn Baltimore/White Marsh
Best Western in Elkridge
La Quinta in Glen Burnie
Thoughts?
We've stayed at the Best Western in Elkridge, twice and are staying again the end of August. We book through Trinity Reservations(.com) and it inlcudes up to 14 days parking, breaksfast (not super fancy, but will hold you over till you board), and shuttle to and from the port (airport shuttle also available for free if needed). The current price we are paying is $99 TOTAL and is good for up to 4 guest in a room.
There is not really anything to walk to in the area, but there is a restaurant/pub in the parking lot. The food is good, we've eaten their both times. Plus if you have your car, there is this HUGE mall complex about 10 minutes away, with many options. There is also a casino.
They also have an indoor, pool which we've never used, but it looked nice.
-
I'm trying to book with Trinity Reservations and it says there isn't availability the dates we're looking for. Does anyone know how far in advance they open dates up? We're not looking until May of next year, but did a mock reservation for April 2015 with no problem.
I just tried doing a mock booking for the end of May 2015 via the BW website and got this message:
Best Western accepts reservations up to 50 weeks in advance. Please select a date within a 50-week window.
So, hopefully soon!! :)

Thanks for this info. My repsonse was related to heatherbean's stay in April 2015. I'm not looking into that hotel for myself.
That's what I'm thinking. I'll check back periodically to see if it's listed. :)

We stayed at the Doubletree Gallery One last month. I got a rate of $120/nt on LMT. You might check there for great rates.
I booked the Gallery One for next April via the Hilton website and got a AAA rate of $151, which I thought was pretty good, compared to some of the other places I looked at.
I don't show it listed on the LMT website for my date, unless it's one that doesn't show the name until you book. I will continue to check, to see if I'll be able to save a few $$.

I am booked on Conquest March 1st though and from a different post I saw that the ship is moving from Miami to FLL which wouldn't be a problem, but the itinerary is Western Caribbean instead of Eastern. (not what I want)
My understanding is that those who were booked on the Conquest are going to be switched to the Splendor, though I'm not aware if OBC or other options were given.
-
I know the itinerary is changing for Conquest, but you cannot view it yet. Does anyone know (contacted Carnival) if the price is going to go down or if they will offer OBC or just change your ship/itinerary without letting you know?
I was booked on the Freedom for April 2015. I received a notice today, stating they would change my booking to the Conquest, and try to keep my same cabin. There was no mention of OBC. I checked and my booking as already been changed.
-
Hi Heather, we are booked on the Freedom the week after you (April 26, 2015). When you Splendor cruise was canceled, did they compensate you in any way? I'm freaking out a little because I am taking my Mom and we have been planning this for a long time.
Thanks!
Hi ThomFam, They stated and did honor our rate we had already booked on the Splendor in the same catagory room. The only catch was it had to be on another 8 day cruise, though I had read others were able to rebook on 7 day cruises. We also got $100 OBC ($50 each).
So cruise price wise we made out pretty good between the OBC they offered and the rate difference we saved almost $1000 had we just originally booked on the Freedom, and fortunately it was for the same exact dates. Though we would now have to fly in, but we were getting much better ports. I do hope if the Freedom does in fact leave that the Conquest will replace her (another rumor I read), and the dates and ports remain the same.

When we went, about 2 years ago, it wasn't very crowded. Plenty of pool and beach chairs. We enjoyed our day.
You take a tram car from the port, short ride. No more than 10 minutes.
