  1. We were scheduled to be on the Escape right now as a matter of fact but we canceled because we had COVID. Our friends also canceled with POM.

We have rescheduled for the Feb 20 Breakaway cruise and while my hubby and I are driving to NOLA, our friends are flying. They wanted to take advantage of the airfare deal but NCL said no, it's too close to the next sailing and they have to fend for themselves.

  2. We had to cancel our cruise on the Escape leaving out of Port Canaveral this Saturday the 8th but only because hubby and I came down with Covid right after xmas! HOWEVER, we are traveling with a group who doesn't have covid but we were all able to use PoM so we are looking to rebook in Feb!!!!

It kind of amazes me why people would bring kids into the Haven pool area as it can't be much fun for them in a quiet courtyard.  It is very expensive, and when I was a kid, we never went to fancy places...it was always family friendly places.  Different world, I guess. I think of the Haven as pretty high end...

Nyc2pdx I totally agree with you! I may be in the minority here, but I don't feel little ones belong on a cruise. I raised 3 sons and we took them camping and to Disney. I am in disbelief when I see parents with their little ones on cruises. And like you, we never got fancy vacation when I was a kid. We didn't even get Disney; it was just camping! 🤣🤣 . Just like you said, different world I guess.

  4. My hubby and I were scheduled to be on the Escape this Saturday, Jan 8 along with two other couples.

Hub and I both tested positive for COVID at Christmas despite being fully vaxed and boosted.

We are driving to Florida from Ohio so we'd be leaving tomorrow for the Saturday cruise. We retested this morning with rapid tests and even though we both feel better, we still tested positive almost immediately.

I called NCL and was on hold only a minute or so, talked with a man named Dwight and told him I wanted to use the Peace of Mind policy and BOOM...FCC activated! It was VERY EASY. He said within a week I'll see the credits.

I am so thankful NCL reinstated that POM policy. I'll be honest with you all....we did not have insurance so this POM policy being reinstated was a God-send.

No offense but with the airline cancellations right now that is a HUGE mistake.  Hope it works out for you.

Ohhhh, I totally agree! They're all flying BUT we are driving! They tried to get their flights to come in a day ahead but NCL said too late flights are already booked.

  6. Okay, so let me get this straight...

I'm sailing on the Escape next Saturday Jan 8 for a week. My husband and I are driving from Ohio to Florida. Our friends/family that are also going are flying down the same day the cruise leaves.

Because of the current covid situation, we have decided collectively as a group to wait until Wednesday to make a decision whether to go or not. If we decide to not go, I can use NCL's Peace of Mind policy for a future cruise and not lose my money?

I called NCL but...well you know, the wait time....I was on hold for an hour and had to hang up because I have an appointment.
