We were just on the Ruby and the peanut butter cookies were not as good as before Covid. I never saw cookies in the buffet only in the IC. Thanks for the info.

I am really enjoying your live thread. We will be on her December 17th. Burning up the last of our Covid credits. I saw on the deck plans that there is a pastry shop near the buffet. Have you been? Looking forward the be on a new Princess ship.

We were on the Ruby September 24 to October 1. There were 2 production shows Stardust and Color of the Wind. Stardust was just ok. We didn’t go to the other as we had seen it before. There was a comedian in the theater 2 other nights. He was not very funny at all. We didn’t go back. The other entertainer was a singing impressionist who was great. We went to both of his shows. If we are going to the theater we like to have dinner between 5 and 5:30. The shows start at 7:30.

Have there been MUTS or movies in the theater. It would be icing on the cake for us if they were playing Top Gun!
-
There has always been one dining room open for lunch on embarkation day until about 1:00. It is listed on the patter. Hopefully they will keep this.

I was worried that with the lack of staff they may have stopped that. It’s a nice way to start off the cruise.

Do you know if there was a dining room open on embarkation day?

I’m assuming from this that our stop in Vancouver will be cancelled. The Prince Rupert stop is now on Wednesday the same day we should have been Wednesday. I wonder when Princess will let us know.

Is this a replacement for Victoria on an Alaskan cruise? We are on a coastal cruise out of San Francisco. Thanks for your response.
-
We are booked on the Ruby in September and the dock schedule for Victoria shows it cancelled but Prince Rupert shows the Ruby as there all day the same day we should be in Vancouver all day. No change listed on our booking. The cruise prior to ours shows the same. Anyone recently on the Ruby that skipped Victoria?

Is there still priority boarding elite?

Years ago there was a movie my husband really wanted to see playing on MUTS so he braved the cold. The next day the same movie played in the warm Princess theater!
We will be on a coastal on the Ruby so
hopefully it won’t be too cold outside. Enjoy your cruise!

We will be on the Ruby in September. Does anyone know if they are sailing at full capacity and if the staffing shortages have been resolved. Are they showing movies in the theater and on MUTS.

I got the same offer last night with $250 free play. Tried 3 times and was on hold over an hour each time. My PCP could not book it for me so she transferred me to the casino department. Still on hold. I guess I'll just scroll through cruise critic for a while. It is really not good for Princess to send out these emails and not have adequate staff to handle the phone calls. I'm not counting on being able to book but will try. Not much else to do while we are just hanging out at home.

Has anyone taken advantage of the new cancellation policy that has refundable OBC? The cruise we have booked for March 28th is a move over cruise. We were given the option of booking another cruise of the same length and same cabin category with our original cost of the cruise to be in the form of refundable OBC. We are on the fence about cancelling but not sure about what would happen with the refundable OBC. I have a call into our Personal Cruise Planner but have not heard back from her. We also prepaid for the soda package which is showing up in our current booking. Would that be refunded back to our credit card?

We have a mover cruise scheduled for the end of March. We have platinum insurance. We may need to cancel due to a possible surgery for my husband. We have refundable credit equal to the original cruise. Does any one know what happens to the refundable credit? We are hoping to not have to cancel but it's not looking too good.

Do you know what movies are playing on MUTS? We will be on her October 13.

I am wondering if anyone has attempted to use an old coffee card since September 1. If so, what has been the outcome?

Thank you for all the menu and food pics! I have a question about tipping in club class. If you tipped, did you tip separately to Giovanni and to each server? I'm assuming you didn't have the same waiters at each meal. We are so looking forward to being on the Grand October 13th!
Thanks,
Judy

Thank you so much to both of you for doing this live thread. It is the highlight of my day to read the updates. We board the Grand on October 13th. We are really looking forward to Club Class Dining now! We hope Giovanni is still onboard in October. Enjoy the rest of your cruise!!

I’m sure you both looked fabulous. I’ve never seen suspenders. Must be a stupid new fashion trend.

The formal night survey is pretty sad. We don’t dress totally formal but we look appropriate. My husband wears a suit but doesn’t do a tie any more. I wear evening pants and a glittery top.

Can you ask Giovanni if he is going to be there in mid October?
Thanks
Coffee cards on Caribbean Princess
in Princess Cruises

This is such a shame. We are elite and do not drink alcohol so we always traded our mini bar for coffee cards. It seems that with Princess they want you to purchase the additional add on fares. In March some people were able to get a $50 OBC instead of the coffee card. Just another elite perk that is being changed.
