  1. We are just back from a Baltic cruise.  We used Alla tours in St. Petersburg.  We did a private tour because I have some mobility issues.  We couldn’t have been happier and it was worth every penny-our guide was wonderful & spoke great English.  Alla tours replied to all my emails ( of which there were many, because I had a lot of questions) very promptly.  Also used them to go to the Ballet one evening.

  2. Well, JanetDeV, I think you had some good points. I was also on that sailing of the Eurodam, and broke a bone in my foot, when I was thrown into the wall while I tried to make my way to the bathroom about 5 a.m. that morning during the storm. I've been in an orthopedic boot since getting home, and am hoping the break is going to heal without surgery. I've been on a many other cruises, and in one other bad storm, and know these things happen, but yes, I too wish the captain could have avoided sailing through that. Since the next day was a day at sea you do wonder if there were other alternatives, like making up time the next day, or skipping a port.

  3. We were on the Avalon Affinity, sailing May 7, 2015 from Amsterdam to Basel. I thought the bed was very comfortable, and I'm a little fussy about beds. There was no top sheet--just a duvet, but if you ask they happily make up the bed with one. The chair at the desk at the foot of the bed was a little bit in the way, but not a big deal. Bathroom was fine, and shower was bigger than ocean-going cruise ships I have been on. We had a great cruise, staff was great and I enjoyed all the ports. Heidleberg was a great stop. Enjoy!
