Much depends on your budget, the time of day you want to go, and how many suitcases you are carrying.
6 Aussies with a lot of cases will fill 2 Japanese Taxis. The taxi fare is about US$200 per taxi from Osanbashi Terminal to Asakusa. Travel time is about 90 minutes.
You could utilize Takkyubin Services from the Cruise Terminal. You would give your suitcases to the Takkyubin people in the Terminal, pay around US$10 per bag, and they would deliver the cases to your hotel the next day. You could take your smaller carry-on bags with you on the train.
Two streets away from Osanbashi is Nihon-Odori subway station. The Minato-Mirai Line train will take you from that station to Shibuya Station for about US$4 per person. The regular train takes about 40 minutes; the Express is 29 minutes.
At Shibuya, you transfer to the Ginza Line. You ride it all the way to the end of the line, which is Asakusa. Travel time is about 35 minutes. Fare is about US$2 per person.
Your hotel is near Asakusa Station.
Thank you so much for taking the time to give the information BruceMuzz. Very much appreciate your clear response. Gives us a clear plan to work with. Thanks again.

It is difficult to understand where you are going.
Is it Asakusa in the North part of Tokyo - or Akasaka in Central Tokyo ?
Apologies on the spelling, that wasn’t very useful! We want to get to our accommodation, Hotel Sunroute Asakusa.
thank you -
Hello,
We are looking for a private guide/driver to take a group of 6 on a customised day trip from Tokyo to Fuji and return. Does anyone have any fabulous guides they recommend, it’s quite overwhelming once you start looking.
We don’t want to do the shopping district, pirate boat etcThank you

Hello, We are arriving on the Azamara Journey on March 19 into Yokohama port. I’d appreciate some ideas of getting our group of 6 people with luggage from the port to Akasuka. Easy enough to use the train? Or are we better off getting a transfer organised and if so does anyone have any recommendations please?
Thank you

Many thanks to both of you and all concerned. Greatly appreciated. Wonder how many people we will encounter next August wandering around reading the same map:)

Could I please have a copy of the walk and map? Really appreciate everyone sharing, I will also pass it along to all on our roll call who are interested.
Many thanks

We would like to book this but just curious comparing it to this years cruise on the Emerald, no stop at Oslo for 2015. Another sea day instead, what a shame, one place I would like to see.
As far as cabins go, port or starboard for this cruise?
Many thanks

Thanks for posting about the smoking, I too hold my breath as I walk past the smoking gang.
At this stage I am thinking I may change my mind and book with either Princess or Celebrity, they have much stricter smoker rules.

Thank you Carol. Yes it is "lined" on the deck plan so I am assuming that we or anyone can use that area.
I guess if we were sitting out there and someone started smoking then we would have to grin and bear it or move.

Hello, we are thinking of booking on the Zaandam Northbound Vancouver to Seward in August 2013. I have just started looking at cabins and need some opinions. We will be booking an ocean view and my research has led me to Deck 2 (main deck) as it seems to be a quiet deck with only cabin above - no promenade.
I came across these two cabins aft G2713 and G2715, they only have showers not tubs which is fine by us. There is a small deck right outside the rooms which is almost like having a balcony. But my main concern, if we can get these cabins, is if smokers would congregate there? Being non smokers it would be just awful for us. We will be two couples traveling together and thought these suites would be great.
Love to get your thoughts and if not these then what's the next best?
Thank you
