  1. By contrast, on existing ships, AQ staterooms are limited to 2....which can inlude 1 child. But this makes for usually quiet hallways and fewer children in BLU...all of whom seem well dressed and well behaved. Hope the AQ 2 occup rule continues on Edge...

Suites not limited so I expect children can be in Luminae and Retreat..not sure abt children in Michaels presently ( when alc is served) or if there is one on Edge....

Children are allowed at the bars on the ships, where alcohol is served so I'm not sure why you would think they wouldn't be allowed at any time in there, and to have a soft drink while their parents have an alcoholic beverage....and why would there be a distinction between how the children seem to be "well dressed and well behaved" in Blu as opposed to children who are sailing in an inside cabin, eating in the MDR????

  2. Don't Miss:

    Formal Night

The boat when it's leaving a port

    The ice show

Having a frozen drink in hand during sail-away

    Don't...just don't

    Buy every photo they take

break in line at the buffet

Knock people down trying to be first to get off at the ports

miss the waiters with the drinks around the pool.

  3. Everyone's tastes and intersts are different. We had not planned anything for Dominica on our last cruise. We walked around the shops and we decided it would be no great loss if they never stopped at this port. My son-in-law left the port area and went on a dive and said it was his favorite port out of all the ports we've visited and that he could have taken a different type dive every day for a week on this island. People who got away from the port with the shops and the people begging for money or to give you a tour really, really enjoyed the island. We didn't plan ahead and were disappointed. If we get to go back, we will go to the falls we read about, and we will get to see some of the natural beauty everyone raved about. Our fault we didn't make the most of this port.

  4. Early/Main gives us time for everyone to chill out or hit the casino or shop and I'm starving by the time I get dressed. We don't spend lots of time on getting ready..just your basic shower, dress and a mad dash for the elevator to the Dining room. We don't stay up all night dancing so I like to have some time to wind down after dinner before hitting the bed.Besides, with Main Dining, I have time to build up an appetite for a couple of cookies and a slice of pizza before bedtime..out on my balcony in the quiet, peaceful zone.

  5. I so agree with "no desire to go to India"...If I had to pick 3 places I would never want to go India would be all 3. No desire to have to pack food in a suitcase. Part of the fun of vacation is the food and I wouldn't trust anything even in the finest hotel. The begging is the saddest thing and the upper-class don't have sympathy "do give them money, it spoils them" and their opinion of Americans...they want our jobs and our money, but feel our children are "lazy, disrepectful and stupid." Do you work with any from India that have hi-jacked our jobs??? Have you seen the documentaries? Listened to their cultural beliefs? What's beautiful? Maybe the Taj Mahal, but not the faces of the disfigured children and adults, the suffering on the streets and in the slums, their ethics, morality, love of their own people??? I'd sooner visit a leper colony.

  6. With the airline restrictions and cost for 1st piece of luggage, we've greatly reduced our list and found that RCCL is particularly good about lots of storage space in a small area. While we may not look like we are heading to the Academy Awards on Formal Night, we will be appropriately dressed in a chic, short cocktail dress. While I may look like I'm in the same outfit, I assure you it is a different outfit in the same color scheme to allow me to stretch the wardrobe. While the ice bucket is small, I can't bring myself to plan on a rolling cooler. I did cave one year and I purchased a syrofoam (redneck) cooler that was about $2.50 one year.

  7. Just heard this am on news that effective 5/15/2009 airports will require your name on ID or passport to exactly match name on airline ticket...not first and last, but must include middle name if on ID. We made reservations months ago and leave in less than a month. Now what??? ***Also, in August, airports will require full, exact name match, plus ask you for DOB, gender and something else..honestly don't remember.

    Anyone else heard this???

  8. Okay, I have the foot fetish thing going, too. But, I think it's y'alls fault! I read a suggestion here on the boards to take a picture of your feet in the sand. That got expanded to pictures showing our feet while lounging, etc. When we got back, we made a slide show of our trip and sent it to family that had really encouraged us to cruise. My SIL sent me an e-mail about how much she loved the slide show - but what was it with us and feet? Here's one of my favorites - it took us about 8 attempts to get it right - we were laughing so hard and some of our coverups kept getting in the picture.

Love your photo. I'm trying to find mine, which is very similar..except we had stopped at Key West, and I bought everyone toe rings..We have one with everyone wearing an ankle bracelet. We make sure it's only the feet, and if people look a little "snooty" about them, we tell them the reason why it's just our feet is that we are "shhhhhhhhh....nudist" and the toe ring/ankle bracelet is all we were wearing. You should see how they look at my 70 year old Mother when we tell them this!!!
