  1. Congrats! You are going to love it! It's amazing what you can do being a solo cruiser. There will be plenty of people to talk to when you want to be social and if you want to be alone, there will be plenty of chances for that.

I had a ton of negative reactions as well, though I am no longer married, waiting around for someone to cruise with me was not an option, I might never cruise again if I had to wait for someone to join me. I've been on 2 this past year and I have another solo scheduled in a few months!

Good luck and don't let anyone get you down!

    Have fun!

  2. I was solo in May 2016 on Anthem and a very quiet person as it is and I still had fun on my cruise and met a ton of people. Go to the cruise boards and see if there are any solo cruisers on the cruise. My cruise we had a huge group of solos. 2nd night a few of us ate at Chops. I went to Wonderland by myself on the first night. It was a bit awkward but I just wanted to try it out. My table mates were awesome though and I had late dinner every evening with the same group. There were meetings for lunch during sea days in the Bionic Bar. I went to the shows with others and sometimes I just went alone. I guess it all depends what you expect. This was my second solo, as my first was in January on the Brilliance, and I had a lot more fun and less nervous this time. I cant wait to go on my next solo which I have yet to plan.

  3. I did this offer on my May 14th cruise on Anthem. When I got to my statement my reservations were for Chops on 1st day and Jamie's on 2nd day. I went directly to Wonderland and switched my reservation for the first day and wanted Chops the 2nd day with the other solo guests which we planned. It was easy to make the change and I was not charged extra for Wonderland.

  4. I was on the Brilliance in a solo cabin 4583. There was a bed, a closet, safe, storage, drawers, desk and chair, and tv across from the bed on the wall. There is a glass door separating the few rooms down this hallway and I never had a problem with any noise. I cannot get the pictures to load on here, not sure why. it's small but I had plenty of space and my two suitcases fit under the bed.

  5. Thank you for your insight on Anthem's dining. I'm travelling on Anthem on the 5/14 sailing and nervous about the dining situation. My last cruise on the Brilliance in January Royal sat me at a table of 8 and I was the only one who showed up. They (my assistant waiter) then informed me that I was the only person scheduled to sit at that table and moved me to a table with a Japanese family that only the wife spoke English. Thankfully I met a single father and I had dinner with them the last 3 nights of the cruise. I'm hoping for a miracle on the next cruise otherwise I will try NCL next time.

  6. Second solo cruise booked on Anthem for 5/14/2016. I had a studio inside guarantee but they upgraded me to a normal inside cabin so far. I'm hoping the 2nd time solo is just as good or better than my first solo which was a few weeks ago.

  7. I took an Uber to get from the place I was staying to the port for $10.00 (20 minute drive). After my Brilliance cruise there were shuttles to the airport for $15.00 for 1 person, $20.00 for 2 people, $25.00 for 3 people. There were shuttle waiting right outside the terminal after exiting. It was pretty simple and cheaper than a taxi.

  8. In December on the Oasis we first had early dining but changed to late dining with our 4 year old after she refused to go to the kids club the entire cruise. They had a fruit cup every dinner waiting for her when we arrived and the Head Waiter paid so much attention to our table. He brought her cupcakes or chocolate every night also. It was the only cruise that I have been on that we have seen the Head Waiter so much.
