Have a friend that wants to cruise with us between Fort Lauderdale and Los Angeles and she needs/wants to have an electric scooter (and wants to rent one), she can walk limited distances with her cane (100 feet or so) but not much more.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a rental company that will do a 1 way rental, and will deliver to the cruise ship?  Or are we looking at an almost impossible task.  We are doing the Emerald Princess in January.

    Thanks

Special Needs at sea is NOT the one to use.  We ordered a chair and the credit card was hit that day.  Princess cancelled the cruise because of the virus.  They charged us $50 cancellation fee and we are still waiting for our refund after 30 days.

HI Everyone. We are traveling with Princess next month out of San Francisco. Anyone know which company Princess likes you to use? Or where do you rent a scooter from (which one)? I'm hoping to arrange for a foldable one.  This is my husbands first time using a scooter, much to his chagrin so thought we might rent it as a trial run, though it is inevitable in the future as we continue to travel. Might be useful to know of more than one company that can be used as the cruise is only 1 month away.  Thank you. Pat

Special Needs at sea is not the one to use.  We ordered a chair and Princess cancelled the cruise due to the virus.  The charged us $50 cancellation and are still holding our deposit for over 30 days.  Too busy right now, but hit the credit card the day we ordered.

Taking a Royal Caribbean cruise. These are the 2 scooter companies who service Royal. I’d love to hear the good, bad and ugly about both. Trying to decide which to book a heavy duty scooter through. Thanks!

Special Needs at sea is not one that we would recommend.  Ordered a chair and the credit card was hit that day.  Princess cancelled because of the virus and they are charging us $500 cancellation.  Then we have waited 30 days so far for our refund, they are so busy.........baloney

I was online toggling back and forth between two scooter websites. I accidentally reserved from the wrong company - Special Needs at Sea. Two days later I called to cancel the reservation (had to wait for business hours - I had reserved it at 10 p.m. on a weekend). I was told I would have to pay a $50 penalty because I did not cancel the same day. My argument was that my credit card had not yet been charged (on the day I spoke with them) and I did not sign the contract that was emailed to me. I considered the reservation to be "in progress" at this time. My credit card was charged three days later with the $50 withheld. I then emailed them telling them I thought they were being unfair and that even though it was their policy to withhold the $50, it didn't mean that it was the right thing to do. I told them that I would give them 24 hours to respond to me and refund my money, or I would protest the charge on my credit card and write a negative review on Cruise Critic. I never got a response so here I am three weeks later letting everyone know about my experience.

We ordered a chair from them for a cruise that was cancelled because of the virus.  They are charging us the $50 also and might get around to returning our deposit when they fell like it.  It has be 30 days and still waiting.
