Has anyone done the Scenic Jewels of Europe trip from Budapest to Amsterdam? We have a room on the sapphire deck and was wondering how storage/closet space is? Does the boat dock all day at the different ports so that after an excursion we can wander around the town? In general how was it?

Thank you everyone for your wonderful advice. Booked cruise this morning. We went with Scenic Jewels of Europe. Even though we are not drinkers the other stuff they offered seemed so wonderful. We leave October 5th for 15 days. I'm super excited. We start off in Budapest and end up in Amsterdam with a few extra days at hotel. Thank you again you were all so wonderful with your advice I truly appreciate it. Your responses were so quick and informative they helped me tremendously.

My husband seems to really like Scenic and they seem good. Was quoted from a travel agent for Avalon and it seems really costly. Any opinions?

Customer satisfaction would be one of my considerations, bang for buck, excursions like I said we are not drinkers so wine/beer tours wouldn't be our thing. It just seems like Viking doesn't get favorable reviews.

Hi my husband and I are looking for a river cruise in October. We've been looking at 2 week cruises from Amsterdam to Budapest but open to others. The lines we seem to lean towards are Viking and Amawaterways. We are also interested in the couple of days extended in either port. Can anyone advise us on a cruise that would be a good fit for us? We're both 52 somewhat active don't drink and very much interested in history. Having never river cruised before we just don't know which to choose and need to decide soon before they are all sold out. Our budget would be for a French balcony type suite. Hi thanks for the great review. I was wondering if you could tell me the time your ship docked and how long after that did they allow you to get off the ship carrying your own luggage? The reason I ask is that we will be on Eclipse August 16 for the Baltic cruise and husband booked an 11:30 am flight from London Heathrow. Our ship docks Saturday August 30, at 5:30 a.m. and we will have a taxi waiting for us at 6:30 a.m. Do you think we are pushing our luck trying to make this 11:30 flight? Thanks

Hi I was wondering if anyone can reassure us that we will have no problem meeting our 11:30 a.m. flight from London Heathrow. We will be docking in Southampton at 5:30 a.m. and will choose to handle our own luggage. The taxi is set to pick us up from dock at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday August 30th. We will be cruising with Celebrity on Eclipse. Now that the trip is getting closer we are starting to worry that we won't have enough time to make our flight.
