I booked a private tour for one person with this company. They waited until two days before the tour to inform me that they overbooked. The only option they offered was to join another group of 5 people, however, even though I had just one person, I would be required to pay more than 50% of the price they originally quoted as they would divide the cost by the number of  groups rather than by the number of persons. When I questioned the change, they canceled my tour.

We used Sixt Rent a Car.  I booked it online directly with them for port side pickup and drop off.  As I said, an agent met me directly outside the gates of the port where the car was waiting.  We returned the car to the same spot and dropped off the keys to the cashier in one of the gift shops right at the port.

Embarkation windows are "recommended" or "suggested".  I've been on 14 X sailings since the restart, only in 2021 were they enforcing boarding times by setting up outdoor queues and it was less about enforcing boarding times and more about satisfying locals laws of not having too many people inside the terminal.  Even then, if you tipped the porters they would escort you inside cutting all those lined up in the outdoor queues.  A lot of people may not be happy about that but it was the reality in 2021.  We just did the Beyond in "Rome", arrived at the terminal at 10am and it was first come first serve, on the ship before 11am despite having a late boarding time

What car rental company did you use? 

My husband and I did a private excursion with King David Castillo. It was a great day. He is very professiona, knowledgeable and fun. He also took time to look for crocodiles and birds that we wanted to see. In addition, he took photos and video of our day and sent us the edited clip when we got home
