  1. What is the difference in the Classic and Premium drinks package. Is it worth paying the extra for a better choice of spirits and wine. I have just purchased the Premium drinks package and as i am not a big drinker, think I would have been just as good with the classic. Could I cancle and order that package.

    Declan

Hand them your ship card. They scan it to verify and register the transaction and hand it back to you. No slip and nothing to sign. Your on-board account detail will show a charge of $-0- for the drink.

Standard gratuity is included in the package.

If you ever have questions about what is included then just mention to the bar tender or bar waiter that you have the package. For example you might ask what nicer call brands of spirits are available with your package for your cocktail to me made with.

  2. Hi, Has anyone taken the Land & Sea tour with Spencer? Description sounds like a good tour with a little bit of everything. Is his boat going back to the cruise dock over crowded? Does he have life jackets for everyone? Does he return his guest back to the dock in plenty of time?

    Betty :)

Betty we did the boat tour last year and was excellent. Spencer will take you and look after you all the time and give you a comfortable journey.

  3. Can anyone tell me the name of the private tour that takes you to the beach under the twin peaks. We did this with another company by motor boat which was excellent but saw the Catamaran pull in and might try this

  4. Hello folks. we are very new to cruising, but you are in for a treat with Celebrity. The customers are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. They are mostly looking to enjoy themselves, and love to meet people from other countries. We have met some very special people and have made friends for life.Dont worry too much of negative points you read. There is always some that no one can keep happy.

Do what the Irish do. If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours :).

Life is to short to complain. Enjoy Celebrity, they have people on all classes, but they all are there for a good time, so look forward to a GREAT Cruise.

  5. Hi Sarah. Can you please tell me if Tonic water is included in the Classic and Premium Non Alcohol packages. Its not clear.

Do you think it is worth getting the Premium Non Alcohol compared to the classic just for the named water and Coffee items.

Is it cheaper to purchase on the first day of Cruise in Dollars compared to Stg before we go, as from UK.

  6. Key West is a fun town to walk around but it is very far. You will be spending 8-9 hrs on the road. As far as the other Keys, it's a place to go for boating or fishing or gazing at water, but not much else, so personally I find it boring. The restaurants are very casual...My favorite restaurant is The Island in lower Marathon. It's waterfront on the gulf and clean (close to 3 hrs from Fort Lauderdale though).

Hi Sharon. We are looking to find out if Hotel Pier 66 is far from a shopping mall as we are looking to find some good priced suitcases and some items we may have forgot. Is the hotel far from the Airport. We arrive for 2 nights on the 21st Feb prior to cruise on Eclipse. Saw Grass may be to far away for travel.

  7. Another question...I am sorry but you guys are so helpful.

Like I said before, I have booked the Comfort Suites on Stirling Street but thinking of maybe changing hotels.

We really need to pick up some last minute stuff for the cruise (shorts, etc) and would love to check out Sawgrass Mills. I know the Comfort Suites and the mall are quite a distance away from each other.

What kind of area is the mall in? Is it close to the beach?

What hotel in that area would you recommend?

THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE HELP :)

HELP. We are staying at Pier 66 in FFL and wonder how far is it to Sawgrass mall Or is there a closer mall to our hotel. looking to buy some good priced suitcases and some items we may have forgot.

  8. Hi Jack:) I am not Sharon but will offer a suggestion anyway.

You can pick up the Water Taxi from your hotel and it is a very nice

way to see the Intercoastal and you can get on and off at different

stops:) I am not sure how much an "all day ticket" is anymore but

I love the water taxi and have done it many times over the years.

Yes, the hotel is in a safe location. One of the water taxi stops

is "Las Olas Blvd".....all kinds of shops and restaurants along the

Blvd:D...not a mall, but outside along the Blvd. It is one of my

favorite places to go when I am in Ft. Lauderdale.:)

Hi Lois. Sorry but I always seem to make mistakes. Thanks for the info ref the water bus . We will use it to have a look around. Its good to know that its located in a safe place. Do you know how far it is to the cruise ship.

    Thanks [Fat but sliming IRISHMAN]

  9. You're welcome. I'm sure you are going to have a great time. Just bring good walking shoes. It's not a long strenuous walk to get around the beach area but you don't want to get held back by blisters.:) We sometimes stay at the W hotel next door to the Hilton and we walk everywhere from there. We only live a few miles away but it's fun to stay at the beach when we want a quick getaway.

Hi Sharon. Were new to this but are staying in Pier 66 23-24 Feb before going on Celebrity and wonder how far the hotel is from the beach and is the hotel in a safe location. Anty good shopping malls near buy.

  10. Hi, the FIL just got back to me and (yay) he got the price drop on the fare for the 10 of us.

Now he is trying to understand the Beverage package policies. Yeah, I know, who isn't ; -)

So I have tried to gather up as much of the excellent advice I have found here and put it into a (hopefully) coherent format. I am also including menus I have gathered up around here.

I would appreciate it if you experts could eyeball it and let me know if I have any glaring omissions, errors or misrepresentations!

    Thanks

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS ON THE MDR WINE LISTS...

    Hi Everyone,

So there you have it, the 2012 Celebrity Wine List for the Main Dining Rooms.

Now as I understand it, this is the FULL LIST for the MDRs FLEET WIDE … but is not necessarily so that ALL wines will be available in ALL Venues… or in some cases there will be only a limited amount of bottles of some selections.

Specific Wine Lists for each of Celebrity’s Ships in the fleet will have the current availability… if one is seeking a specific wine, then you should consult one of the MDR’s Sommeliers.

I would like to once again thank the wonderful crew on the Celebrity Solstice who got this info to me…

Igor – the Maitre D’ of the Grand Epernay Dining Room

    Amir – the Head Sommelier

Hi Sarah. i hope you get a chance to TRY THEM ALL. THATS THE IRISH WAY TO DO IT.

    Jackdec [FAT IRISHMAN]
