  1. I've stayed in Oceanview cabins on both decks before. No issues being on those decks from my perspective. One positive is that on port days, if you're on deck 2 or 3 you can usually skip the elevator when coming back to the ship and just walk up the stairs. Very helpful when there's a crush of people coming back at the same time as you.

There are a few Oceanview cabins on Deck 3 that have a larger porthole window than the rest. Cabins 3115-3127 on the port side & 3112-3144 on the starboard side. These rooms were once public space that was converted to cabins, which is why they have the larger windows.

Which I posted it in the Pullmantur forum, someone responded with two of the four are fairly updated and two are not, I’m curious which of the two aren’t.

Oh I didn't even think to check the Pullmantur board! Good catch. As others have stated, Infinity and Constellation haven't been upgraded yet, I would tend to agree that those would be the ones to move to Pullmantur

Empress has a Coffee Shop near the entrance within Boleros.

I had read somewhere that if you buy a coffee at the coffee shop that there's pastries available as well....it looks like there's a spot to keep them there on the counter. I can't really tell from the photo if there's actually anything in the case. If you get a chance, can you confirm that they've still got the pastries?

If the suitcase has a zipper, you can get in and out if it in a matter of seconds using a ballpoint pen. The bag can be rezipped so there would be no evidence of tampering. The strongest lock or zip tie in the world would not prevent this.

    Posting URL to demonstrate.

Well on the plus side of this....one time I left the keys for the luggage locks at home and didnt realize until we were on the ship. (needless to say DW was not too happy). I quickly started Googling and came across a video similar to this and I was able to get in our bags.

So if you ever forget the keys, this is something useful to know 😂

  5. I've stayed on Deck 2 multiple times on Summit. I've never had issues with noise from below. There was one time where the AC unit for the room was kinda loud, but that shouldn't be an issue since the Revolution updates.

Do you suppose someone purchased it for you as a gift?

No lost teeth yet, but I did have a molar that was bother me last week haha

The only person I mentioned the cruise to was the wife and she definitely didn't book it. So I have no idea who bought me the gift lol

I posted about a month ago that Celebrity has wife and I booked on something for two days in 2039.  It’s still on my account with 7205 days until the cruise.. I just put it down as part of their horrible IT.

Well for all those people that complain about how long it takes X to release new itins, sounds like that got 2039 covered haha

Wow, first I've heard of that occurring! Does it show that payment has been made? Very odd, keep us posted on the developments.

It doesn't show that anything's been paid, but it also doesn't show a balance to pay....

  9. I've had something weird happen, not sure if this has happened to anyone else (especially with Celebrity's IT track record 🙄)

The other day I was checking on the price of cruise on the Summit, (October 20 - reposition to San Juan from NJ). I didn't place a courtesy hold or enter any billing information since I just wanted to check the price and then see how much vacation time I had left.

Well yesterday afternoon I got an email from Celebrity with my reservation confirmation, including a booking #. This morning I got another email saying "Thank you from LLP for booking". When I log in to my Celebrity account it shows the cruise and it let's me browse for packages and shore excursions. It looks like a legit booking.

I've checking all my credit cards and bank accounts and there's no charges (pending or otherwise).

Has anyone else ever had this happen? While I'd love to believe that I just got a free cruise, I got a feeling someone will catch on when there's no payment....

  10. That really is comforting to hear!!! Did you have any issues with noise / roaring from engine or mechanism, etc?

We are not people that spend alot of time in our rooms, except to sleep and get ready and we are usually up and out of our rooms by 8 am. As for the connecting cabin, that won't be an issue for us because it is the other couple that we are travelling with that will be occupying the adjoining room. So all good there!!

Just trying to ease our worries about being on deck 2. Thanks again!!

In 2137 we did have a small issue with the AC, it was really loud. Stateroom attendant banged on it a couple times and that seemed to have fixed it lol. Being in the engineering field, that’s what we professionals call a “manual calibration” haha

Other than that, never any discernible noise/vibration from the engines or ships equipment. We did notice that it was extremely steady down there when sailing. There was one day that my wife and I were in the room for a bit reading/napping. We barely noticed any movement of the ship. We got on the elevator to go up to the buffet and a woman on the elevator was comparing about how much the ship was moving. My wife and I exchanged bemused glances until we were actually up the buffet and you could definitely feel the ship moving.

Overall, I think you’ll be fine! We enjoyed the cabins on deck 2. Pricing was great too, so we’ll definitely sail in those cabins again!!

  11. I haven't stayed in this particular cabin, but I have stayed in 2188 (roughly same location on opposite side) and 2137 (same side, closer to mid-ship elevators). No major issues being on deck 2. It's great for when you're coming back on board after being in port, just walk up a flight of stairs to get back to your room. 2188 was a connecting cabin, I was impressed with how quiet it was with having a neighbor next door.

  12. FWIW traveled on the Summit in January with my DW and some friends. One of our friends wore dressy shorts into the MDR one evening. He was promptly stopped at the entrance and asked to change. Though, reading some of the other comments it seems like there's a possibility that some times it gets overlooked.

  13. Summit

    Cabin: 2137

    Deck: 2

    Class: OV

    Area/Location: Midship

Bed Location / View: Near bathroom, faces towards wall.

    Quiet? Yes

    Balcony/Porthole View: Excellent

    Balcony/Porthole Size: Standard Porthole

    Wind a Problem? N/A

    Soot a Problem? N/A

Problems / Comments: Good stateroom located near the midship glass elevators. Far enough away from the stairs and elevators to not hear noise. However, there is a "white space" on the deck plan near the cabin. It's apparently an area where when the gangway could be located if there's a high pier. On my cruise to Bermuda, the gangway was on deck 1 so this was not an issue for us. Bathroom had a bit of a sewage smell that we also smelled on deck 1, not horrendously bad, but slightly noticeable on certain days/times (not sure of the pattern). AC was also kind of loud. There was a banging noise when it was on, informed the steward, something was done because it definitely got quieter but still there. Best I can describe it, it sounded like when the ship is moving and things tend to creak, except it still made that noise when were were docked in Bermuda for 3 days. Overall decent cabin, looked in good shape for it's age.
