  1. I used to work for a travel club that sent these out (although for Carnival). Basically people had to come in and listen to the travel club sales pitch. Whether or not they bought in to the program we would give them a certificate for the free cruise.

The free cruise was very limited date wise, and would be an inside cabin, on an old ship, etc. the person still had to pay all port fees/taxes.

This wasn't a TOTAl scam, but it was a pain in the behind.

I talked to some members who enjoyed their free cruise, and others who had bad experiences.

If it sounds too good to be true...

  2. Personally, I have no interest going to a character breakfast. I might when my son is older, but even then our cruise would not be ruined if we could not get a seat. First come, first serve and I'm fine with that!

However, if I am ever lucky enough to book a suite, I would not take my son into CL, happy hour or regular hour. Even though children are allowed, IMO their is a time and place for kids.

Besides, happy hour with a 4 year old = whiny hour. Happy hour with son at Adventure Ocean = a very happy hour indeed!
