  1. My wife has printed out a large note that she attaches with her laundry tag that reads” Please spin dry only and return wet on hangers”. We have only had one time that the clothes were put in the dryer. We then have lots of extra hangers for the rest of the trip. Most of the clothes is dry in one day. She usually also brings it to the attention of our room steward.

  2. We will be visiting Martha's Vineyard on our cruise this September. I was wondering if there would be either taxis or tour operators at the port for hire, or car rental agencies nearby.  I was also wondering at what island or port the cruise ship actually docks. We are on the NCL Star.

    Thanks in advance

You'll almost certainly dock in Old San Juan, but it's not guaranteed. Once in a great while a ship making a port call will have to dock at the Pan American terminal because there are too many ships in port for all of them to dock in OSJ.

The trolleys haven't run for several years.

Thanks for the info. Sorry about the double post!

  4. We are arriving in San Juan on the NCL Dawn in March. I was wondering which pier will we be at? Is it the one closest to Old San Juan? I was also wondering if by chance, the open trolley that goes to the fort ,was still shut down.

    Thanks

  6. I was wondering when NCL offers it's double up special for cruise next certificates, is it only when you book a new cruise?  Do you see the special on their website where all the specials are offered ? I was able to use 2 certificates per cruise on 4 cruises that were cancelled due to covid, but since then, I have only been able to use 1 per cruise on all my upcoming cruises. Now I have 4 left that will be expiring by the end of 2023.

  7. I was wondering what NCL's policy is on cancelling one of their excursions. I have booked and paid for an excursion with Visa for an upcoming cruise. If I cancel the excursion, will I be refunded the amount to my Visa, or will I be refunded with an OBC that I must use on the cruise.

  8. I have a scheduled flight returning to Canada from Iceland on May 28th at 5pm. One article says that the test should be administer no more than 24 hrs before scheduled departure and one statement says the day prior to scheduled departure. Is this just an oversight on the GOC? should the test be take only after 5pm on May 27th, or can I take the test any time the day before? It does make a difference , since most testing facilities close at 4 or 5 pm. Probably my best bet would be to purchase a Switch Health rapid covid test for my wife and I for $79?

    Any input is greatly appreciated

  9. I was wondering if it is possible to debarc the ship on the second last port. We are scheduled to finish our transatlantic cruise in Savona, Italy, but would rather get off the ship in Marseille, France, the day before. Is this a possibility? What arrangements would have to be made ? Since it would be in a different country, would that pose a problem? Any help would be welcome.

You don't need reservations for the main dining room.  How many in your party?  We re cruising next month with several other people (13 total). We did make reservations in the main dining room for our group because of the size.

There are just 2 in our party. I had heard with the larger ships, you needed reservations for almost everything.

    Thanks for the info.

  11. I have an upcoming cruise on the Escape. I have made reservations for the specialty restaurants. When I look at the main dining rooms, there is a spot to make reservations.  Do I require reservations for the main dining rooms for supper? Can I show up without reservations ?

    Thanks

  12. hallasm, Thank you very much for the response. Another quick question. I know we can't predict the weather, but would you prefer the morning over the afternoon? Is it typically foggy in the morning . I will be there at the beginning of October.

    Thanks Again

  13. On the day we are in port, we only have enough time to do either the fjordcruise or a bus excursion to the lookout due to their timetables. Would we see mainly the same things on the sail in and out as the fjord cruise? Are there any smaller tour companies that do a fjord cruise besides the RIB boats and the one large tour boat?

    Thanks
