  1. Hi. I have an opportunity to upgrade my mini suite on Lido Deck to a forward facing suite which may not be on Lido deck. We like Lido deck, but I’ve also always wanted to try a forward facing cabin. Has anyone been in a forward facing cabin that can give me their opinion on these staterooms? Thanks!

  2. I didn't realize that we wouldn't be able to get into the FLL terminal until 3 hours before our flight!  UGH! Let me ask you this: our flight options back to Mpls are either 10:30 a.m. or 4:10 p.m.  If I book the 10:30 a.m. flight, do you think I'll get to the airport from the ship in time?

  3. Honestly the mask mandate on our August 8 Alaskan cruise didn’t phase us. We still met many wonderful people in the dining rooms (even if you sit at a table for 2, there’s another table for 2 RIGHT next to you that makes it feel like a table for 4 lol). Masks were worn in the casino, the Princess theater, the entryways to dining rooms, etc but it wasn’t an issue and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves in a normal fashion!

In the past they have been available for purchase on the Room Service menu.

Our travel agent ordered some chocolate covered strawberries for us as a gift. They never showed up in our room and our stateroom folio upon checkout showed an $8 “gift credit”. Pretty lame—the gift was such a nice gesture and I would have loved to get them!!

  5. Everything at embarkation went smooth as silk. We were on the ship in about 15 minutes of arrival at 10:45. Ordered food from the app last night to our room when we get a late night craving. It came fast—about 30 minutes. It’s nice cuz you can watch on the app when they’re making it and then when it’s on the way. I cannot recommend the Noodles bar enough. The vegetable miso ramen was fantastic. All the food has been great. Had alfredos pizza after an excursion all afternoon in Juneau. Went there at 6:30 and walked right in with no wait. Tonite we have reservations at Harmony—the Chinese restaurant. Right now we are sitting on the White Pass train waiting to head out of Skagway. You will love this ship!

Yes!  We are boarding this Sunday and adding that requirement for us would have been a mad scramble.  I'm reading that Carnival announced the same restrictions before Princess did.  Maybe it's all of the CCL brands that are doing this?

Us too!  And we leave TOMORROW because we are taking the train to Seattle and that takes two nights!  There's no way we could have gotten a test today and had results before tomorrow.  So whew!

We got an upsell offer about 6 weeks out for our upcoming Alaska cruise. It was $199 each to go from a standard balcony to a minisuite. I didn't go for it. The offer said to reply to the email and my card on file would be charged. There were minis open on that sailing that I wouldn't have liked as well as our balcony. I know I could probably - emphasis on "probably" - have gotten it changed if we were assigned one that I didn't like, but it just wasn't worth the hassle. If they'd sent me a list to choose from, I might have been more likely to go for it. The offer came from the generic reservations email address.

They DID send me a list of mini suites to choose from when we accepted the upgrade.

You can actually sign up online now. Follow the link above and look for the Enroll Online link under the How Does This Service Work topic. I just tried it myself and got the raspberry, since our flight is at 10:55 AM. I knew that was outside parameters, but thought I might as well try.

Thanks for the info! I’m all signed up!

The only fee is if your airline charges for baggage, and only certain airlines participate in Port Valet. I received the form in my stateroom a few days into our sailing.

You will be responsible to get yourself to SeaTac.  I use the Princess bus transfer, but you can taxi/uber if you like.

Can you sign up for the Princess Transfer once you get on the ship?

  10. Can someone tell me how you get registered for the Port Valet Baggage Program?  We are on the 8/8 Majestic Princess to Alaska and would love to be able to let them handle our baggage and get us to the airport.  (At least I'm assuming that's what this program is?).  Also, does anyone know the cost?  Thank you in advance!

  11. We are on the 8/8 sailing. We got an upgrade offer from Princess on 7/29. I had a hard time deciding. We had a balcony on Lido deck originally (we have always been on Lido deck amd love it up there!) and the mini suite is on Emerald deck. We ended up taking the upgrade ($119 per person) and figure it’ll be nice to see what a mini suite is like and we will also know for the future if we really want to keep booking on Lido deck! We are excited for the extra room of the mini suite!

  12. So I’ve been checking the app to make dinner reservations and our cruise is still a week out and there are no reservations left for either the Chinese restaurant or the Steakhouse. Sort of disappointing. Is this normal? Or maybe making reservations on the app is still too new to know if this is normal.

  13. One more question (famous last words ha!)...do you need a "MedallionNet" app to get online once on the ship? I couldn't find one in the app store.  I already have the MedallionClass app to get OceanReady, etc.  People keep referring to "MedallionNet" in this post.  We leave on 8/8!  So excited! "Life is short.  Take the trip."

  14. Does anyone know if the Carribean Princess which is sailing out of the Bayport Cruise Terminal in Houston offers the disembarkation package where you pay a certain amount, they take your luggage the night before you leave, and you get on a bus and are taken to the airport? It was so convenient when we were on the Ruby Princess. We are flying in and out of Houston Hobby airport--not Houston International. Or will we need to just get a cab when we get off the ship?
