  1. We twice had club continental suite on deck 8. We didn't make use of our lovely butler and enjoyed having a bath, but got tired of the specialty restaurants and ended up in MDR which was very good.

What we didn't like and this was a factor in us choosing a balcony cabin midships on deck 7 was the noise in the suite on deck 8 from the deck above with restaurant furniture being moved around at all hours whilst they cleaned above us including water splashing down onto our balcony.

For us this year the refurbished balcony was perfectly fine for 10 days, used our free benefits such as wifi and just paid for Prime C as and when and saved a huge amount.

I would suggest either go all out for a top suite if you can afford it or book a well located balcony cabin and cruise more often! CC in our minds are a halfway house.

  2. I don't think this did Princess any favours at all, I wonder if they had some editorial control. We have sailed on big ships like that in US and Europe but the programme didn't show it in a good light.

Would be nice to see a less sensationalised programme on one of the smaller ships to show how nice it can be with drinks included and visible Captains and staff like it is on Azamara and Seabourn etc. as in not all ships or lines the same.

thankfully not come across many people like Mandy the british vet or her hubbie on our travels! Wonder what they thought of the first episode and how they came over.

Have it set to record but not sure I will bother.

  3. Yes about 130 pax had to stay overnight in Monaco. However before that 86 of us were put on board a tender to the ship around 11pm after azamara gave us meal ashore.

it was frightening experience culminating with the lifeboat offloading only about 8 to 10 pax in very choppy conditions, smashing against ship. Then we cast off, ordered to put on life jackets which were not readily available, in darkness, no lighting, people traumatised and we returned to dockside. We returned the following morning by tender, and I asked to wear my life jacket to do so.

sadly so far azamara senior staff appear unwilling to discuss the incident with us. derisory compensation offered by letter overnight.

So more to tell but about 450 pax blissfully unaware of the traumatic experience endured by others. I don't want to go in more detail on here at this time.
