The shade is very minimal. Only early morning 9/10am and that's only if you 'hug' the rocks. Once the sun is overhead there is NO SHADE. We left before noon. Baby Bay is perfect for little ones; calm and shallow.
Thank you! We are hoping to go in the morning for a couple hours and we will probably leave by noon as well, depending when we arrive.

You could carry a portable umbrella(s) with you. See satellite photo below:

Thank you for the photo and response! I did read the thread about the umbrella. We will probably bring an umbrella of some sort then even though I doubt my toddler will stay under it! :)

How far to the right is "Baby Bay" from the entry/amenities at HSB? And now we definitely can't rent an umbrella in that area? So were you able to get enough shade with the rocks? We will have our almost 18 month old with us in Oct. who probably wouldn't allow us to sit under the umbrella anyway as she will want to be in the water (based on a recent beach trip), but I was hoping for some shade. Thank you!

I had a few drink questions:
How much is a single soda? (Not the package)
Does anyone know if the drinks of the day or basically fruity, fun drinks are included in the drink package? I thought it was up to $13 drinks but then some said those that staff come around with, because they are in souvenir cups, are not?
Thanks!

Thank you all for the great information! Yes a taxi would be a lot more since it is only 2 adults and a baby. We will look at the minibus and decide if we should go over to Hamilton after or back to the Dockyard and do Hamilton as the other full-day in port. We hear October is the rainiest month which is when we will visit, so weather may affect our plan. Is the rain usually brief as in other tropical ports, or does the rain persist like in the states (this would be in October)? Thanks! So looking forward to our visit!

Thank you SBtS! Great info!
Does anyone know how long of a bus ride to expect from Horseshoe Bay to Hamilton? We plan to spend a few hours at the beach right away in the morning once we get there and then head over to Hamilton for the afternoon. We have a toddler so a few hours at the beach will probably work best. Do the shops in Hamilton ( and for the Dockyard too) always close right at 5, no exceptions? It would be a Monday, so no Harbour Nights would be going on. How long do we need to explore Hamilton? We figured we could go back the next morning if we need more time. We would be looking at shopping, grabbing a bite to eat, and anything nearby appropriate to do with a toddler. Thanks so much!

Will they charge $7 for my 1 year old as well? And there are always some waiting to take you back as well, correct? Has anyone gone over to Hamilton from Horseshoe Bay? If so I assume we have to walk and find the pink bus and we can then pay at the bus if we don't get a pass, right? Do they charge for a 1 year old? I am trying to figure out the easiest plan. Thanks in advance!

Anyone know about beach access here at Lucaya? Is there still free beach access by the police station or is it only pay for a hotel day pass? Is the Grand Lucayan open post-hurricane? Anyone been here in 2018? Thanks!
