After reading this thread, I did the same.  I booked on Sunday with the 4 perks then checked today...  I lost the wifi and went down to the classic pkg but saved 450 bucks.  And that's in only 2 days...

There is a Holland cruise in March 2019 that's very similar but only 2 stops in Hawaii. We are looking closely at that one... more time to save :)

we've done 4 adult women to keep costs down and it was fine! A couple of us would use the gym to shower...

We were on the same ship as Dr G...

We walked off in the first group..right after suites walked off (surprise!), inside was disorganized but we cleared customs, and had no issues getting a taxi.,.We had early check in at our hotel and had time for the breakfast buffet & all morning at the pool the pool.

 

Things start to back up later it gets, so line up as early as you can for walk off....much earlier than ship advises.

Has anyone done the evening tour? The morning trip was full, but they state the 5 hour evening tour is available. Thinking there will be a sunset before 7, right? We were going to go on our own but decided to try woodwind. Rather excited!

We have done 2 Christmas cruises and am looking forward to this years! What I do is bring my Charlie Brown Christmas tree with mini lights (battery operated) and at each port, buy a tree ornament or key chain. By the end of our holiday, I take a close up picture for our memory album! :)

For gifts for yourselves, what about a group gift and purchase mini binoculars, especially if you have a balcony. Have a great time! Di

I wonder if you really had that offer of upgrade for no charge or you assumed it would be no charge.

 

Celebrity allows you to upgrade as long as the price of the new cabin is at least $1 more than the price you paid, not the difference between the cabin you have been assigned and the cost of the cabin you would like.

 

Is the concierge cabin really more than $1 (note: equal is not more than $1...I know, this happened to me and they wouldn't let me upgrade) than you paid?

 

Just curious.

 

Note: I wouldn't upgrade from your current wonderful cabin with the large balcony even if I could.

Well it all started when I booked an inside gty. When the prices started dropping very shortly after, I called my TA and she got on with Celebrity. We received a 1A gty at no charge at all. 8160 is what we got assigned. Was I impressed! The Concierge was offered by the TA this week. Not sure if it was her offer or Celebrity's. Still a very costly trip for us as we booked flights early this month. So happy to have the balcony as consolation :) Di

Thanks all, appreciate it. After reading your suggestions, we have decided to stay with what we have rather than the unknown gty. Points are not important to us. It was a bonus to book an inside and get bounced up to this cabin so I should quit while I am ahead.

Hi we are not familiar with equinox so a quick question... booked in cabin 8160 (hump cabin) but have option to upgrade to concierge at no charge. What would be the benefit if any? I understand that cabin 8160 is a great gty :)

On the last holiday cruise 3 years ago, they stocked Pimms. For the following 2 weeks I had Pimms muddled with any fruit my super-duper bartender had that day and topped with ginger ale. Sure hope they know I'm on board this Christmas!!

I would not have been moved if I hadn't phoned and asked to upgrade. When my TA came back on line and says I get a veranda with no charge, I just about fell on my face. Room is assigned already... yeah it's obstructed but who cares!

We booked an inside gty holiday cruise about 3 weeks ago and our room was assigned that evening, good room cat 10. Saw the prices went down a bit these past few days so called to check. They upgraded me to a balcony 2d gty for no charge. This is the price with no perks but the resident rate. I'm impressed. So lets see if I can keep this a secret from hubs till we get there :)

Booked my Christmas cruise 2 weeks ago and my room was assigned by that evening! Crazy!

I did not, but I saw people doing it when I was in the park. It looked like a pretty well established path, so nothing technical. It looked relatively easy.

 

One thing though, get there early. The park can easily be an all day thing. The road is dirt and is one-way, so you have to drive the whole thing. It took me over 2 hours to drive it, with stopping and enjoying several of the sights.

 

Is this an excursion or are you looking to do it on your own?

we are interested on going on our own.. do you recommend it?

We are there March 25, how about you? I think we will just take the ferry over to to the other beaches sounds easy to do... our problem is margarita island and what to there.. Have a great trip, whatever you do. Di
