The only transfers I can find available to and from the  Terminal are by Taxi.

Has any one caught a city bus ?  There is a bus stop out the front of the building.  Also the port provides a free shuttle to several downtown shopping centres, any information on this option would be appreciated, eg.  which s. centres, where is drop off and pick up etc.

One last question - did you feel safe during your stay ?

Firstly sorry to crash your post by asking a question rather than suggesting a suitable hotel for your stay.

We have been told sailing in and out of Venice through the Grand Canal is all about to change when the purpose built port well away from the city is completed

Can anyone confirm this or is it just a Italian myth ? ;)
