I have enquired via my T A about this only last week and p&o confirmed that in the Caribbean the decision as to whether you were permitted to remain in isolation on the ship or be offloaded into a quarantine hotel would be made by the next port of call post isolation, so in effect if you were isolated on a Sunday and Monday you docked in Antigua it would be at the discretion of the Antigua port authorities if you remained onboard or offloaded.  At which point P&O would no longer assist in your onward journey home, their response was that you would need to speak to your insurer's to arrange payment for the quarantine hotel and your repatriation to the UK and this would be the same circumstances if you had tested positive or were isolating as a close contact of another passenger who was positive. Huge concern in the Caribbean islands when a lot of airlines are not currently offering direct flights to UK airports (my flight is from Manchester) you could very well end up having to take a number of connecting flights just to get back home which to me is not what I would deem to be a relaxing holiday experience! I wonder if these same rules apply to quarantined crew as well as passengers. I asked if we could be provided with a list of which Caribbean islands would insist on offloading and which would permit you to remain in on board quaranteening and was advised that they simply didn't know......I am sure they are fully aware of exactly which islands would insist on offloading but they dare not publish this information as part of their port protocols or I am sure many people would vote with their feet and cancel holidays for sure.

I asked P&O several weeks ago what would happed if you tested positive on a ship. After several attempts at waffle on their part this is what they said :-

'Hi Lesley, if there is an outbreak on board,

our comprehensive new protocols are designed to protect the health and well-being of all our guests and crew. We have plans in place, tailored for each ship, to manage medical needs including dedicated cabin capacity for isolation should this be required.'       NO MENTION OF BEING OFFLOADED TO SHORE.

    Hi Everyone,

I'm preparing for my third UK staycation cruise of 2021, this time onboard the P&O Britannia.

I returned from my last cruise onboard Viking Venus just two weeks ago, and it reminded me that the thing I REALLY love about cruising is the food.

Watch this video as I decide what to pack for P&O Britannia on 8th July. I also discuss my previous experience onboard the Britannia and how much I loved the food!

    See you up on deck!

    David

loved your videos! cannot wait for your updates on board Brittania

  5. I have flights on Virgin going at the beginning of March and our seats were available last week, however, when we called and obtained the flight locator and logged on to the Virgin Website, the Flight dept at P&O had already pre-selected all passengers seats and allocated them to the passengers leaving no option available at all for alternatives in Premium Economy.  We were originally told that we would be able to select our own seating but this was not the case at all.  I have no idea why P&O opted to choose the seats on our flight, there were 25 bookings and plenty of seats available when I checked seating availability for my flight before the pre-allocation!

  6. Hi

Has anybody recently visited Tortola and knows whether Pussers Landing is operational again following the damage it sustained in hurricane Irma?

We visited many years ago as part of an organised tour and would love to visit again however It does not appear on any of the organised tours currently.

    Thanks!

  7. I have paid the upgrade to premium economy to and from my Caribbean cruise and have now been told that the extra we paid for this - circa £350 pp does not include the seat reservation and we will need to pay another £70 pp on top to sit togethe/choose our seats!!!

  8. Thank you so much for this, I really appreciate your response. the huge wait at Ocean Terminal has put me off arriving early to be honest but it sounds like Mayflower is more organised. Have a fantastic time on board Aurora, I have not been on her since the refurb but looking at possibilities for next year!

  9. Hi

Has anyone had any recent experience of using the Mayflower Cruise terminal in Southampton??  It is a good few years since I have used it and believe it has undergone a refurbishment and now has better facilities?  We have just had our e-tickets and been allocated a late check in of 3.30pm and as we need to be out of our hotel by 11am am unsure whether to go directly to the terminal around 12.30pm and wait around or drop our cases off and head in to town until check in.  Thanks very much

  10. Thanks very much for your responses. I received the email this morning and have seen the menu which looks quite extensive and I can imagine some people are not happy to pay for everything when in the past most items were free of charge so think there will be some grumbles!!

I see there is still no price list for in cabin drinks on the website though

  11. Hi

Has anybody seen the new P&O Room Service Menu?

The website says that a new room service menu with more chargeable items will be available from May 2017???

I am hoping we will be able to buy bottles of spirits to have in our cabin as this option had been removed on our cruise onboard Ventura in September.

  12. I have to say having just come back from being onboard Ventura, I was quite shocked when I visited the Costa coffee onboard to see that the coffees (lattes cappuccino etc) were NOT made as they are in a high street Costa coffee (i.e. With the beans freshly ground to produce a freshly brewed coffee which then had hot milk added) it was a premixed machine where a cup was put under the spout the pre programmed button pressed and hey presto there was your Luke warm Milky yuk they passed off as premium paid for coffee definitely NOT worth the costa in my opinion!

  13. thanks for all your responses we were informed that the company wide policy was to stop the sale of 1litre bottles of spirits on room service and this was being rolled out accross the fleet (we travelled on 12th September) I have then heard from other passengers and again on here that mini bars were being put in your cabin fridge prior to boarding but if you didn't want them then the cabin steward would happily remove them. I love going to the bars onboard but do really enjoy a late afternoon drink on my balcony and a nightcap occasionally so utilised the in room ordering service. It's a shame that P&O will miss out on these sales as I feel sure people will bring their own onboard until of course they come in to line with other cruise lines and stop people bringing alcohol onboard all together - which I am sure is only a matter of time especially if they don't make any revenue on the mini bars!!

  14. Hi

I am just back from a cruise on Ventura. On boarding I wanted to order a bottle of spirit and mixers to be delivered on room service to my cabin as we had done on all previous cruises. When we arrived in our cabin, I could not find a price list nor was there anything showing on our interactive tv. On contacting room service I was advised that it was a new company policy recently introduced to stop providing drinks for consumption in your cabin, they could provide the mixer drinks but not the spirits.

Has anyone else had this issue on any other P&O ships?

Must remember to pack and take some with us on our next cruise

  15. P&O will not want people hanging around in the departure lounge, they want you onboard as quickly as possible - easy the sooner you are on the sooner you are spending! You are not spending money with P&O until you set foot on that ship sop they will not follow through with this in my opinion :)
