Last September there were quite a few folks using the pool when we were docked in and leaving Juneau.
-
We cruised Alaska in September and the only time we were really cold was on the small boat when we sailed up to Dawes Glacier. Otherwise plan to layer- some days were sweater days and some days a light shirt was enough. On our last day in Juneau people were even swimming in the pool.

I leave my dress clothes on hangers and cover them with dry cleaning bags. For some reason that works for me everytime.

This is a terrific review! Your pictures are incredible!!!

From what I understand, if you have to change cabins, you pack up your stuff and leave it in the cabin. Then the cabin stewards will transfer it to your new cabin while you are waiting to clear Customs. Have fun!

Mid ship Deck 5- I hate being under noisy areas.

Aft Vista Suites are the way to go on the Legend Alaska cruises. We had one last summer and have back to backs in a VS booked in 2018.
-
Bummer- even Disney ships have adults only pools.
-
I just tell them I keep getting free ones from the casino so it's hard to not go! Then you can see the questions really start coming.
Too funny:D !!!

I agree that the photographs are incredible. I wish we had budgeted more for the pictures because they were so much better than what I had expected. I also wished that we had skipped the videographer and video (which I was less than happy with) and put that money towards the photos.
Another thing that saved me a ton of stress was arranging to have my hair and make up professionally done and then bringing the hair and make up artist onboard for touch ups before the ceremony and reception as a "guest" at the reception.
Congratulations!!!

I went with Grey Goose VX and cranberry juice on our last cruise and I think it was around $17 a drink. It was actually the Carnival bartenders who clued me in on the expensive stuff :-)
-
Grey Goose VX and cranberry juice- normally I would never pay that much for a vodka tonic. Three or four of those and I was good for the night and broke even.
-
You would have to book through Carnival's Australian site.

No cruise related but still fits within the spirit of the thread.
About 10 years ago just before the kids, we took one last couples trip to WDW.
it was in early December right after thanksgiving.
Anyway, we were on the monorail from our hotel to EPCOT and an older couple sitting in the same monorail car with us.
The husband loudly starts telling his wife how mad he is that "THERE ARE TOO MANY G-D DAM KIDS HERE" He looks at us as if we were going to agree with him.
So, I said" what did you expect its Disney, not Vegas!!!" he says, maybe true, but we spent a lot of money to come here... his wife turns around and tells him to "SHUT THE HELL UP, FOR FORTY YEARS NOTHING IS EVERY GOOD ENOUGH, its no wonder why the dog ran away!!!"
This is hilarious!!!

I like Roatan and St. Maarten the most. I'm not a fan of Grand Turk or the Bahamas.
-
I have had it take anywhere from a day to a few weeks. I think it depends on the ship, but also on how far in advance you are making reservations.

You can walk to the creek yourself - no tour needed - Ketchikan is a small town. The Lumberjack show is cheesy. Recommend the Misty Fjords flight seeing tour instead. Expensive but well worth it!
I completely agree. You can buy a tour book and walk Creek Street yourself. Misty Fjords is beautiful.

The key to Alaska weather: Hope for the best, be prepared for the worse and have fun no matter what.
I completely agree. I was there on a land tour several years ago and it rained the whole time- I still loved it enough to put an Alaskan cruise on my bucket list. Cruised Alaska last summer and it was in the 70's and sunny the whole time.

I have TSA Precheck, card from doctor. Doesn't matter. Just let them know before hand and you will get "special" treatment every time

Completely agree- they won't even look at my joint replacement card.

Haven't cruised in a few years, but this will be my 13th? 14th? Carnival cruise in Sept. Does anyone know how much they charge for bottled water at the bars?
Recommend buying bottled water from Bon Voyage ahead of time. It is very reasonably priced
I have heard the main dining room food has gotten bad. Anyone know?
I am not a fan of the MDR food anymore. We have avoided the MDR on our past three cruises- of course we never went hungry.
Taking my mother-in-law for her 1st cruise. I never get seasick, but what can I get as an Rx from our dr for that would help if she does?
Dramamine OTC, patches and wrist bands.
Also, she's not much for formal dress. Could she get by with black slacks and a blouse?
Absolutely.
Any other changes I should know about? I have platinum. Thanks in advance.

Just a few thoughts...

We love the Steakhouse! If you have the money it is well worth it! I love the surf and turf the best and my DH always goes with a steak. I have never not been impressed with the options and the quality.
-
I would talk to the MD on the first day if you need a table for ATD. Personally I think if you wanted 24 people to be seated together you should have chosen early or late dining. A few years ago we had 16 and I would have never expected us all to be seated at ytd at the same time.

Try emailing guestcare@carnival.com and explain what you need. Provide their names, ships sailed and sail dates in the email and request credit. Any proof you have that you can send in the email would be beneficial. Photos taken that show your parents on the cruise, past credit card charges, or anything you can think of that shows they were on those cruises could help. It sounds like a glitch in Carnival's system.
Good luck

Try doing a mock booking. Under the Tell Us About Yourself section click on "forgot your VIFP number?" Fill in the information and see if you can't get it that way.
I think that's how found out about problem.

Hello,
I have not been on CC for quite a while. Can somebody tell me what the web site is for buying discount carnival gift cards. I can't remember and can't find it anywhere.
Thanks much!
