  1. Your time in Eden can be spent taking in the lay back ambience or ships tours. We live in Eden and have been having cruise ships visit for the last six years, the ships tours are only just getting their act together and if your up to it a good walk, will fill most of your day as long as hills don't worry you . Eden is a small fishing/timber village of only 3000 people so the things to do tourist wise is small but the beauty of the place makes up for the lack of tourist hype . The whale migration will have finished ,but the bay cruise is worth doing. We would take you for a tour if we were home but will be on Emerald Princess. Enjoy Eden but think small town.

  2. Just heard from our friends on emerald and all is going well, good food, entertainment good, nothing broken so far. They cruise at least four months of the year each year so know when a ship is off key. Naples today , just coming into port as I type. Our NZ leg booked out now and the Fiji leg filling slowly, just waiting for our B2 guarantee cabin number on NZ leg.

  3. Tara Jane the dolphins come and go all year round,so the chance of seeing them is just luck, your best chance of seeing them would be to book a cruise on the "Cat Balou", which has bay trips, also freedom charters do bay cruises. The Pacific Dawn is in port today and the day you cruise into Eden we will be boarding Radiance of the seas for a Christmas cruise to the Pacific. Happy cruising.

  4. Eden NSW has been a cruise port for the past five years with many domestic and overseas ships visiting at certain times during the year. My question is to those who have visited by ship, what do you think of the port of Eden as a cruise destination and the shore excursions available to the passengers. Living in Eden for the past 11 years and being keen cruisers our self's, we would like some feed back from fellow cruisers on what could embellish their day visit.

  5. Is anyone else having troubles with RCL web site. I have booked a cruise and paid for it, yet my future cruises on their site shows no such booking, travel agent say there computer shows our cruise . Have emailed RCL but no reply. Haven't had this problem before as this is our 16th cruise I know how the system works. Just thought I'd ask .

  6. Just got off Voyager of the seas, have been on Radiance and Rhapsody before ,great ships, service good ,drinks price on a par with HAL,Princess. What a shock to find not only had the drinks increased in price, but the range of drinks had decreased by half. The drinks packages were being offered and pushed, and asking the bar staff the meaning of not having proper bar menu's they said they were to push only the packages ,All cocktails $18.45 australian, glass of wine min $11.85 australian, no wines on the list available, only what was offered each day and that changed each day. Very cheap Australian wines offered and there prices fluctuated from each bar and each day, no consistency. Complaints to the beverage manager were laughed off,as if this couldn't happen. Normally we would have spent $1000 on a 16 day cruise and drunk well, if we had taken the package the bill would have come to $2816 ( aust), If Royal Caribbean continues with this price pointing I think a lot of people will look at better alternative's. Now to be fair these prices do include tips, but at a 60% increase from last RCC cruise a bit to steep for us.

  7. Thanks for you responses , yes we do layer when cruising and find 70 degs a pleasant temp, not to cold and not humid like we get in Australia. We are looking forward to the sea days on the crossing, I enjoy the crowsnest on Noordam, sitting in those leather chairs, watching the ocean and falling asleep😪 Fly out tomorrow week to Rome, not looking forward to the 23 hour flight but it's the price you pay living in Aus. As for price we pay more for air travel, in this case $2600 ea than the 26 day cruise $2250 ea. Making the fight worth it by doing a 20 btb Caribbean cruise straight after the TA on Royal Princess our first large ship, will be quite warm in the Caribbean just like northern Australia, so the layers will become shorts and Polo's. Saturday morning here time to get out off bed. Tony.

  9. We are doing our first trans in a few weeks time, Noordam 26 dayer from Rome to Fort Lauderdale, question is what type of weather to expect with the crossing, temputure, rain etc, big seas don't worry us, as we're used to the southern seas. We enter the Atlantic around 28th October, thanks for your thoughts. Tony & Julie.
