  1. Reviews??? Pro and Cons??

I had originally an ocean view room midship on deck 1 of course the only deck that has them. Then there was a crazy sale on guaranteed balconies and i just couldnt pass it up. So this is what im stuck with. Little more forward then i usually like but i think its a decent room nothing but cabins above and below. Has anyone sailed in that room or anything equivalent.

  2. I am in a serious debate right now !?!??!?!?!

Whether to give up my assigned ocean view room for a guaranteed balcony on the Carnival Pride. Its about 200 bucks cheaper overall. But i have never done a guaranteed room

Have any of you all ever did a guaranteed and what was the outcome my girlfriend is platinum and i am gold if that matter???

I was looking at deck plans and doesnt look like there are many bad rooms they way the ship is laid out

  3. I am looking to find the best bet for transportation to and from MCO to Port Canaveral. We have used SAS when going into POM that obviously that is not an option here. I have used Carnival transportation which i kind of want to stay away from i am not a big fan of waiting for the bus to fill before you leave. As our return flight will be cutting it close getting to airport. My girlfriend is platinum and i dont see it being a problem getting off of ship by 930. I was considering taxi to and from.

Any suggestions are great thanks even if someone has taxi'd it what the fare was around. I am assuming about 60 dollars one way?

    Thanks

  4. I have used SAS when going to POM and also Carnival Transportation. I want to avoid the carnival trans. just wasnt digging on waiting for the bus to fill up. As we are flying in the day of and leaving after the cruise with a tight time window. I cant remember do they have a taxi line waiting when you get off of the ship? I thought about taking taxi to and from.

    Thoughts and suggestions??

    Thanks

  5. right there is a gap in the lifeboats and im just trying to figure out exactly where that gap is .......there are like 2 rooms on each side that have no lifeboat above them...not that it matters either way i love the room was just wondering guess i will find out in 2 days

  6. i know someone has cruised in that room by now haha....just wonderin is there lifeboats above that room????? i was on the dream in 2298 and loved every minute of it with lifeboats or not i was just wondering thanks

  8. I just wanted to tell everyone to be sure and request an email confirming the Carnival Player's Club gift that is to be waiting for you onboard. Otherwise, you may not get it!

We spend a bit of time in the Casino when onboard and I called before our Splendor cruise in Dec to inquire for which gift we were eligible. I was told we would receive the Premium Bon Voyage Basket.

Once onboard, we received the photo coupon and the 2 large bottles of water, but did not receive the Bon Voyage Basket. I thought maybe it would come later in the evening but by the next afternoon, it had still not been delivered.

I then contacted the Casino Host to inquire as to why we didn't receive the basket. She told me she would look into it.

At dinner that evening, a Lady from the Bon Voyage Dept came to our table and told us that she had contacted the Carnival Players Club and we did not qualify for a basket. I told her that she was misinformed and that I was told before the cruise that we did qualify, she agreed to check further.

This back and forth went on for the entire cruise! They said they were in touch with Miami and had people looking into it and to check back. Although the Casino Host and the Lady from the Bon Voyage Dept were very nice, having to ask them about it daily became quite annoying.

Finally, on Friday evening, one day before departing from the ship, the basket was delivered to our room, without even a note of apology for the trouble and the delay. Not the best of Customer Service!

The basket was beautiful but we were given no time to enjoy it. We were only able to bring the wine home since fresh fruit isn't allowed to be taken off of the ship. We gave the basket and contents to our Cabin Steward but it would have been nice to have had a bit of time to enjoy it ourselves too!

So, this time when I contacted the Players Club to inquire about the Welcome gift, I requested an email with a confirmation that we are once again eligible for the Premium Basket. He did agree to throw in an extra photo coupon for our trouble before! :)

So, take my advice and request an confirmation email and print it out and take it with you onboard! The basket is very nice and I don't want anyone else to have the disappointment I had!

thanks for the heads up just got the email conformation no problems here!!!

  9. Just off the ship for the Thanksgiving cruise. Some observations...

FINALLY platinum and the embarkation was wonderful. Got there at 10:15am and went to the priority office. Yes, it was a separate office with a desk and lemon water. Given zone #1 and sat in a separate area. Then at 10:30 moved to another area. Escorted to the ship at 10:45 and were on board at 10:55. Very civilized...actually heaven.

The pasta bar is actually a separate restaurant and was great. People didn't even discover it until the third day.

The Tandoori grill, aft by the pool, was the best. Try the pineapple and tomato relish. It was great on the flat bread. Ate there every day,

The comedy lounge in the Burgandy lounge was beautiful. Get there 30 minutes before the shows, as it is standing room only. They were excellent

The Jumbotron movie screen by the main pool was quite entertaining. During the morning hours there is a guy who comes by with the bloody Mary cart. Watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade has never been this much fun!!

The Steakhouse was worth every penny. The ribeye steak was the best!! Wonderful, attentive service. We went on the first night and received a free bottle of wine.

I've been on forty cruises and never have I felt a ship rock and roll this much. Could have been because we were in the Eastern Caribbean and the time of year. It didn't bother me but bring seasick meds just in case.

The Cove balconies were awesome. We were in 2288 and never heard any noise except for the waves. The beds were...think cave balcony and the Flintstones and you will get the picture. No Carnival Dream bed here.

I was not impressed with the area called the Lanai on deck five. It had those glass partitions all around the sides and seemed very claustrophobic. The BBQ lunch was overdone burgers. The Mayo and cole slaw were not on ice and did not look appetizing. There are plenty of other places to eat.

Crimson deck four was for anytime dining and our service and the food was outstanding. We waited one night for 45 minutes but were seated right away the other nights

Did not think the ship felt crowded at all. Maybe it was the motion of the ocean

Would go again in a heartbeat. The cruise renewed my faith in carnival for delivering a great product for a Budget price

Try the new menu.....I think you will be surprised. Happy sailing!!!

nice we are on 2298 for the may sailing......which is port side.....did they dock the ship port side at all the islands???
